The big difference between our run at the moment and previous runs is the defence actually looks very good. We've never had a good defence under Mowbray before - we've always had obvious weak points. 

But now (the Fulham debacle aside) we must have one of the best defences in the league.

I didn't watch the game.  However, it's obvious Bucko has improved into the beginning of this season, looks a bit stronger and had added versatility to his game.

I do think some come on specifically to antagonise the ones who aren't as impressed with him....

If he can add a few goals and assists then we have a decent player.

Got to be honest, looking at our run for the rest of 2021...Bournemouth aside, it's nothing to be afraid of. In current form, if Kaminski isn't out, we should be able to win most of the others. Famous last words I know...

I know we should just be grateful at being in the playoffs but looking forward, is automatic promotion something we should be looking at? 

Fulham and Bournemouth are playing each other next. Win against PNE and the game against Bournemouth becomes a real 6 pointer. Win that and we'd be 3 points behind.

Imagine saying that 3 weeks ago, when we were 14 points behind and had just been thrashed 7-0!

Harsh. The game isn't just about those things, especially for a CM, but he played a spot-on through ball to BBD who should have buried it. I'd consider that a memorable moment, and if Diaz was in his usual mood he would have had an assist. I'm not one of his backers btw, last season I thought he was mostly a liability.

Sparks come on. You said Stefan Mols (currently playing Step 7 football with Warrington Town) was miles ahead of Buckley and that Buckley would never make a player.

Yes, I think it was fair to have doubts about John, but you’d completely written him off and I think people have a right to give a little bit back for that personally.

He’s proven so many people wrong and we should all be really pleased that he has.

The PNE game will be a real tough battle, Preston have been in pretty decent form of late and could and maybe

should have beaten Fulham today, according to radio commentary they were the better team.

Hi lads, can we simmer down with the bickering about John Buckley please?

Had to hide a few posts where insults are getting thrown about, we like to see a better standard of discussion and debate on here and we usually do reach said standard, to be fair.

We won the game and we are in the play offs for the first time in a long while, so I’d recommend enjoying that instead!

It’s not a breach of rules or an insult in any way for me to reiterate that Stefan Mols is currently playing Step 7 football with Warrington Town and that John Buckley is smashing it with the 4th best team in the Championship 😀 mad how quickly things change!

I've not watched a full Rovers game this season before that, but Buckley looks extremely comfortable on the ball and very clearly has something about him that's rare at this level.

Him and Rothwell are both fantastic ball carrying, forward looking midfielders. Makes a huge difference to have 2 players like that, as our forwards, effective as they have been, are nothing like as technically gifted.

That was one of the best all round performances of the season for me, we looked the complete team. Still lacking a bit of presence up top and a bit of pace wide in the squad imo. However they covered everything today, competed with rough house Stoke and a dick of a ref. Got it down and played when they could, attacked on the break and pressed from the front.

Exactly the thing you need to do to prosper in this league and leave to sideways possession crap well alone. I don't know if a lightbuld has finally gone off in Mowbrays head, his hand has been forced or someone has had a word but this is the Rovers we want to see.

Even if they'd scabbed and equalizer it would be harsh to have a go. This team is clearly hungry and playing for each other, the boss and the fans.  I hope people leave the expectations alone as well as they've surpassed them already compared to recent years. Not sure we have the depth, quality or legs to keep it up but it's enjoyable whilst it lasts.

It’s amazing what happens when we stop playing big strikers on the wings.

Excellent professional performance.The work rate to get the ball back is currently top notch. I was worried we’d lose a bit of that without Dolan but even Khedra was at it. Providing Kaminsky isn’t too serious it’s been an excellent day.
