davulsukur Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 (edited) I've seen that both QPR and Crystal Palace have now partnered with a Cryptocurrency business and are now selling these digital tokens to fans in exchange for a "licenced digital image" https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/qpr-launch-digital-collectibles-141221/ Crystal palace seem to be offering even less just giving fans votes in a poll or to play games against other fans, seems a bit weird. https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/partner-news/crystal-palace-to-launch-cpfc-fan-token-on-socios-com/2021-12-09/ I follow a bit of digital art and I've come across NFT'S before. I've never been able to wrap my head around how people part with so much money to "own" a digital image I can just right click and save as 🤷♂️ Needless to say, the QPR and Palace announcements have gone down like a lead balloon on Twitter and it all seems very dodgey. There is also a bloke popping up on various clubs Twitter accounts promoting this Cryptocurrencies, acting like he's a lifelong fan of each, saying how great these partnerships are. Anyone else come across these before and have more knowledge than I have? Feels like the sort of shady, pyramid scheme Waggott would be all over! Edited December 15, 2021 by davulsukur Quote

Upside Down Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Yeah I really can't understand this whole thing. However we do live in a world where you can order extrajudicial executions of hundreds of people and also be the holder of the nobel peace prize. Quote
