Totally gutted today's game was called off so late. We get there and was park up when we found out. It now getting ridulcous was games being cancelled now and the EFL need to get clubs to do the test before the game and or for evening kick off in the morning.

I totally agree with the comments of the Rovers players have made on social media.

fans are the last thoughts of the EFL. Now the game likely to be played on during the week means we as group won't be able to go due to family and work commitments. So thankyou Hull and the EFL for a completely and utter wasted journey today

What's infuriating is that there is carte blanche for the EFL, you ask for any responsibility and accountability and all you'd get is "covid, end of story."

fans deserve full refund and cost of travel. Not jyst tickets for the next game as many would have bought as its a holiday and they availabel to go.

Sadly you can probably also say the same about most governing bodies and big businesses in the country the past couple of years to some degree, it's just too easy of an excuse to hide behind and anybody that questions their decisions is painted as as some kind of quack.

its time some of these players twigged the problems they cause  for fans and get vaccinated and are human and can get covid

.

Is that really the takeaway from all this?

Not wanting to turn this thread into another covid thread but absolute rubbish. imo.

A short break would have practically zero effect as relatively high levels of the new strain will still be about at the end of it. This is why the decision was correctly made to play on wherever possible. The overly oppressive isolation rules are the root cause of the  problem together with the footballing authorities being too soft on the Club's.

Are we going to bring the Country to a halt and ruin everyone's lives and businesses every winter from now on because people are exhibiting flu/cold like symptoms?

All I can say is that you are either unaware of, or ignoring the realities of, the situation we are in.

It’s faff all to do with Boris and the government it’s the FA who control it. This virus has to be lived with as it begins to die off just like Spanish flu did in 1918. We have to get on with everyday life. Ffs even smarmy Starmer and co agree on that point.,

Spanish Flu started in Feb 1918 and didn't become a mere seasonal illness until April 1920 (after 4 waves).

By that timeline we should begin to become free of Covid (aside from seasonal illness) just after this winter, which is rapidly looking very similar to the 4th Spanish Flu wave.

Nip over to the Covid thread and ask the same questions, I’ll happily engage you.

Well played, Gav. Unfortunately for you, being this sensible means that you’re now a moderator and in turn BRFCS is totally ruined for you.

The EFL need to look at the current rules as the situation has become farcical.

Have Hull really got 14 or 17 or however many positive cases, or are they unable to use certain players due to them being unvaccinated and in close contact, like us with Dack/Eastham last week? If the players haven’t had the vaccine, they should be taken out of any calculations.

So we have another century of this shite?

All in all what a mess up , whoever is at fault for it .

Mainy fell sorry for the travelling fans , but also the team cutting short Christmas day to travel, fans looking forward to the game , even little things like paying for day pass on  now tv   etc , etc

Add it all up and it's a big waste of everyone's time and money, which surely could and must in future be avoided .

So, we set the replay date and Hull will have a fully fit squad, while rovers are ravaged by Covid but still above the required minimum numbers to force the game to be played.

Whats the chances of that?

I can't think of another industry that closes when a few staff are ill.

Matches should be forfeited if a club can't field a team.

Remember that could happen to us and cost us a top 2 place or place in the play-offs.

The only questions should be about the timing (and whether the tests were genuine which I'm sure they were)

But I do agree that unvaccinated players shouldn't be in the count.

It’s hardly surprising that lots of footballers are testing positive as the virus is all around us. More of them are being picked up because they are being tested everyday and most of the general population aren’t.

There are thousands, possibly millions who currently have Covid but don’t realise as they have no symptoms or are mistaking a bit of a cough or a runny nose for a cold. I’m  willing to bet there will be a fair number of the 3,000 Rovers fans who should have been at the game who will have the virus unknowingly.

Can I suggest that anybody disaffected by today's farcical postponement puts it in writing to the EFL through this link?

https://www.efl.com/contact-form/

The more people that write the stronger a case can be made. At the very least it enables you to let off a bit of controlled steam.

Hopefully the powers that be at Ewood are asking tough questions and won't be fobbed off by bullshit.
