That was the thing about Dyche, although his teams relied on physicality they very rarely got on the wrong side of the officials. No sendings off for bouncing the ball on an opponents head for instance. Not many stupid shirt pulls or ankle taps on the half way line All their cards were earned not bought.

I've never forgiven Carrick for that.

Others might but the recent liquidation of Calder Vale Holdings and the lack of transparency from the majority owners on what they did with the (apparent) 100's of millions that were in the bank has upset a few people. Don't be surprised if you here it discussed in Parliament at some point this year. With any luck we could see the wheels fall off the Dingle Express sooner rather than later.

Did you know they pay their celebrity friends to turn up? (Think Tom Brady and his 3.3 pence shares)

Mm, they pay their players but they don’t turn up.

spent loads on unproven players at PL but now Kompany is being linked with Bayern Munich manager job there

A reputation goes a long way it seems, even it not fully earned yet in the managerial space

He was great for them in the championship but they could be flat track bullies and never needed a plan B, turns out their plan B should have been plan A in the premier league but he never quite got that sorted

I wouldn't employ him if I was Bayern anyway.

I hope he doesnt get sacked unless he is replaced by Southgate.

But I cant understand why anyone thinks Ten Hag shouldnt be sacked. Spent shed loads on players he wanted and 2 years in all theyve had is regression and still no discernable style of play

Probably because whoever they try and appoint, it results in the same outcome.
The guy hasn’t done well, but with that injury list and players being hopelessly out of form, I’m not sure he could have done better tbh.

They’ve had some really good managers since Ferguson and they’ve all ultimately failed. What does that tell you?

I acknowledge the difficulties injury wise in the last month or two in particular.

And I take on board the ownership issues and it might be hypocritical considering my views on Venkys, but of course its not the same. Ten Hag has spent huge money on players he clearly played a huge part in signing, players like Antony, Martinez and Onana for example who he has worked with before.

All them seasons post Ferguson havent led them to 8th and their worst Premier League finish, so winning the title doesnt have to be the benchmark. Both Mourinho and Van Gaal (and to a lesser extent Solskjaer who is not a good manager) have had success since Ferguson left. With a team with a number of his own signings, there is no sign of progression and no one is any wiser as to how he wants to play, 2 years in.
