I managed to get my three tickets for the Dingles game this morning, but I had to jump through a good few hoops to do so. I can't see many Burnley fans managing to get into the home seats tbh.

I clearly heard the lass on the other phone line saying to the person on the other end "Its been 6 years since you bought a ticket for a Rovers game, why do you suddenly want to go to the Burnley game?" and she actually wouldn't sell to them. Now it may well be that the person had only ever bought for one game, years ago, which would probably make it fair enough to refuse, but it just shows that at least there's some sort of vetting going on. If anyone who is a regular Rovers attendee sells to a tout then hell mend them when they get banned from Ewood for doing so. People are a lot more traceable than they were 20 years ago (against City).

Hmm, but surely they shouldn’t be blanket turning down folk who haven’t been to a game for a while (especially if they are on the database), as isn’t this exactly the kind of game a lapsed fan might come out the woodwork for?

It seems Rovers are quite happy for tickets to be limited and as a result a small gate on for this one.

The fact we had 16,000 fans on Ewood on Good Friday yet zero mention of this fixture and a deliberate strategy to not sell any tickets for it until today, a mere 2 weeks before the game, tells me all I need to know

A club keen on as many as possible on in the home ends would have been advertising the hell out of it during the Norwich game.

Wonder if the police have something to do with lack of advertising? Sure they'd be happy for it to fly under the radar with as few on as possible.

Yeah I agree which is why I was careful to caviat what I heard with a lack of knowledge of just how 'on the database' that person actually was (e.g. it could be a one-off ticket purchase 6 years ago which means they could well be a Dingle, or multiple purchases prior to that and covid or another reason has kept them away, in which case they are clearly a Rovers fan and as such it would be harsh to turn them down imho.)

We got offered a silly amount of money for our season tickets. Didn't take it.

Some people made a decent wedge from not attending that game.

Just how do you justify this suggestion? The police can have absolutely not a shred of influence on advertising a match or lack of!

And if they didn’t imagine the real issues of people getting seriously hurt/maimed or even killed because no checks were made during ticket sales! By doing this they are protecting themselves, the club and supporters and preventing serious public order which we do not want to see at Ewood as it is Rovers who would be punished NoT Burnley.

The lack of advertising is probably due to the fact that there are 2 home games before the DIngles which still need promoting.

So it’s ‘common sense’ to turn down everyone *on* the database that hasn’t been for a while?

Give over. 

With only 2k away support, £30-£35, midweek and Sky, there’s enough obstacles in getting in a decent crowd without putting up anymore.

Anyone would think the club wanted a half empty ground…

It is a long standing tradition that tickets for a game are released and on sale no less than 3 weeks before the match itself. I've no idea why it is 3 weeks, but 3 weeks it has been for as long as I can remember and with the exception of replays or hastily rearranged fixtures that is the standard.

For some strange reason however the club have decided to cut that down to just 2 weeks. In what must be a first we managed to set prices and an allocation, and provide tickets to the away club who promptly sold out of those before we'd even announced prices or sales arrangements for home fans. I come from the school of thought that home fans come first and you make sure they have the priority and the away team come second.

To make matters even worse we bizarrely announce prices on Thursday last week, the day before Easter weekend and our biggest home attendance of the season, but decide not to sell tickets until today.

It is strange conduct for a club wanting as many people as possible in the home ends that is for sure.

I suspect they will come with some cock and bull about us having Hull and Coventry games before then and not wanting to overwhelm the ticket office but I'm not having that.

Some may remember at a previous fixture that some of us were involved in arranging for the netted off seating area's to be filled with flags.

Although there is much reduced segregation in the home area's this time, I have asked if we can do this again. So (providing the club agrees) if anyone wants their flag displayed at the game give me a shout. 

There will be an area in the bottom corner of the Riverside & I've asked if the Venky seat covering can be replaced with standard netting in the JW lower to allow flags to be attached.

I remember there was a BRFCS one on display last time too, not sure who is in charge of that these days.

I would honestly suggest that any Burnley fans turning up without a ticket, should be banned from their ground.

Its bad enough hearing what happened at the Blackpool game, so hopefully they will stay at home, watch it on TV and enjoy it that way.

No violence, or injury or worse should be tolerated, full stop.

Make sure there's a massive premier league winners flag there. Show them what it is to win a proper league title.

Didn't they delete all none ST holders from the database "due to GDPR rules" ?

 

My last ST was when Lambert came in and I had renewed hope. That debacle followed by the appointment of Coyle stopped me going.

As soon as I read the rules I realised I couldn't buy one even if I wanted to so wouldn't even bother wasting my time trying.

Strange rule with the ground half empty but I will watch it on the Amazon stick so no skin off my nose.

One real disadvantage of there being a lack of crowd control is the fact the game is a midweek evening kick off. I have heard that the police are concerned that many Burnley fans will descend on Blackburn during the day with all the pubs being open. I would assume that lots without tickets will come too.
