Neither bother me and it's good to get opposition views. Whenever we've had Preston fans on here they have generally been gobshites, but these two aren't that bad.

They have to accept if they post on here they are going to get stick at times, but any time it's gone OTT the rest of the posters seem to get Gav back on his leash.

Not sure if Longsider1882 has got DM's, cos he hasn't got any stick visible on the board to make him decide he might leave. Bit of an odd reaction from him yesterday.

Christ, don't leave me here on my own, Longers !!

My view is that we get a very fair hearing, but treading the line between analysis, fair comment and banter is a tricky one on a rival's board .... you will occasionally get it wrong, or invoke the wrath of a rival supporter who's got out of bed the wrong side, or had a sense of humour failure !

The way I see it is its an Internet message board it's here for discussion rival views are always welcome from me I might disagree even go to far myself but open for everyone to have their say.

I always enjoy discussions with Longers and SC. They are of a similar age to me I think and let's be honest the rivalry is no more than a bit of pantomime for us at this stage in life ("oh no it isn't", I hear you cry!).

It probably doesn't get much worse as a football fan than your local rivals lording it over you by clinching a league title on your ground. Apart maybe from being in the fourth division when your local rivals win the 'actual' title.

Her quote towards the end of the article - which part of Burnley did they visit…

I understand we switched the road signs leading into Clitheroe to say Burnley, and told them Clitheroe was a suburb ... then took them over the Ribble to Waddington ( renamed Lower Burnley for the day ), they had lunch at the Lower Buck, and signed the cheque on the spot !! 😉

If you happen to bump into them,  please point out it’s football (not soccer)

It's a near 20 year habit that you rightly suggest I should really break. I first came on in the day's pre-social media - my guess is to "trash talk" about an upcoming game and I've just stayed around. That said, this season, more than any since 2004, it has become clear the majority don't welcome my presence so you'll see very little of me going forwards.

I can only speak for myself but I've always enjoyed your contribution to the board. Felt its always reasoned, non antagonistic and I enjoy the outside perspective.

This messageboard has always been richer with the views from opposition fans, so personally I'd hope you continue to post.

Speaking of which, Ffan from Fulham was a poster I used to particularly enjoy hearing from a few years back. Life always needs a variety of perspectives.

Ffan was good but he only came on here in the week before our two teams were due to play each other.

Bloody hell do we need a guard of honour for those two or what? They get more than a fair hearing, all this because Longers was pissed posting the other night.

Nah, it's because they're far more interesting than you 🤠

There was a time when I watched live football 5 nights a week, no sky then.

I've a decent collection of programmes from all local clubs and it's good to talk.

(Edit) 4 not 5 nights
