I think you being on here is good as it re-affirms that we are the morally righteous fanbase 😉

If a Rovers fan went on NNN or Clarets Mad back in the day, they wouldn't get more than 1 post in without being vilified, insulted and banned by some small minded cave dweller with a burning hatred borne out of jealousy.

However , as we'll always be a more successful and bigger club than you (albeit on our knees at the minute) , we can freely welcome the few of you that have evolved to the level of figuring out electricity and the Internet as well as procuring a specially adapted keyboard and mouse for the additionally digited  😜😁

*As much as I really dislike your fanbase , we should both be proud of what two small mill towns from East Lancashire have given to English football.

As some may recall, the mods ( or in their words, Dictators ) graciously placed my preview of the last derby held at Turf Moor as the first post of the thread ( v The Dingles (A) - 13/11/2022 ) ..

Given the outcome of that game, I doubt such generosity will be forthcoming this time ... 😉

It’s a fair point, has a Rovers fan ever been a regular on UTC? No idea why they would want to be, but they wouldn’t last five minutes without being hounded off.

Whereas even obnoxious twats like that Sam Dingle lasted years on here.

There were no travel restrictions when we played them two years ago and the vast majority went by official coaches/buses. I know a few who made their own way by car but at that particular time there were no trains on the day.

Yeah, that's what I said!

Don't be silly.  Fair do's to you you came on here and acted like a human being when we were in the ascendency.  Enjoy your time in the sun we surely would.  Would love to beat you lot but we are just worlds away right now and with Calamity Pears it's a home banker.

I’ll still post Blue, I’ll just try to consider what I say and comment on more carefully.

That’s because winning major trophies has given us a collective self-esteem that makes us infinitely better people.

Bollocks to the naysayers, you’re a more than worthy contributor. Especially given your disability.

Please continue to post as you see fit.

There was a rail strike that day which no doubt impacted it. A coach was preferable to a taxi or driving.

Wasn't actually a strike, just rail replacement buses between Blackburn and Colne due to railworks over that entire weekend, which conveniently Northern tweeted on the Saturday before saying they couldn't "source" any replacement buses for the Sunday, Yeah right!

Ended up getting a taxi to Preston after the game and the train the rest of the way home.

That's the one! Certainly put me off the train anyway. It was extremely convenient! Im a bit torn on travel plans, train is preferable but also don't want any hassle or to be treated like cattle. I doubt they'll escort us to a suitable watering hole!

Train to Accy. Drink. Train to Burnley and then straight to ground.

Although be interesting to see if they allow the Spoons in Accy to open at 8 as usual.

To be fair, I was a regular poster on claretsmad (same username) from about 2003 for a number of years. So much so that when newbies on their forum questioned me posting, they were immediately shouted down by the seasonsed posters. Run by a rather authoritarian figure called Tony from what I recall, who often annoyed a fair number of his fellow dingles.

I remember him celebrating us getting Hughes as manager and thinking it was the beginning of the end for us..

Dear oh dear they seem to be in absolute meltdown the twats down the road it's brilliant 🤣

Seeing comments about a fire sale, Pace out, no chance of promotion etc etc after the team they fielded yesterday and the result.

I must admit I was fearing the worst but the last week has massively changed things. I'd still take a draw like 👍

Short memories they have over there but like us it's the price you pay for having newbie/Prem fans who know no different.

As for Pace it couldn't happen to a bigger #### after his various comments regarding us when we've played them.

Seems almost all online Burnley fans have no sense of balance or realism.

in terms of actual sales so far we’ve only sold odobert and Berge who were seen as first team starters and they were always going to go - & we got around 50m for them, almost trebling our money in 12 months. Does look like O’Shea is about to go though, for more than double the price we paid - mind you up until about February half the fan base would have driven to a new club. Twine almost never played and Zaroury did nothing after the World Cup, went to Hull on loan and did not very much. Losing JBG is a bit rubbish but he got a great offer and bizarrely a player who left at the end of his contract weve ended up getting a fee for.

We’ve also signed what is in effect O’Sheas replacement in Worrall.

I think of greater concern in terms of players is Cullen missed yesterday without much explanation and so did Koleosho - whose now being linked by the media to Wolves. We need a new CM to replace Berge, We need a new striker and a new winger and still need to clear out some squad players.

In terms of the weekend - and despite some suggestion I was humbly bragging - I did say we hadn’t been good against Cardiff.  Unless we get back the likes of Cullen and Koleosho, plus Worrall ready to replace O’Shea then I’d have you as favourites for Saturday. It seems all the upheaval has upset the team moral and we have a big job in the next few weeks to a) strengthen and b) build team spirit. I didn’t go yesterday but I haven’t heard a single positive about our performance. Seems we were lucky to keep it to 1 - and possibly fortunate to get nil.

But a week is a long time in football, still transfers to happen - or not. I can’t say I’m looking forward to Saturday it but it’s not like I haven’t experienced the losses to you, unlike a chunk of our fans.

Wikipedia (yes I know! 😄) says he signed a new one year contract with you on the 6th July this year.
