G Somerset Rover Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 You take a point given we’re not far off half of our B team out there, but it’s tough to take with Bournemouth and QPR winning. Simply have to bring in 2-3 decent players by Monday evening. Anything less isn’t good enough. 2 Quote

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Take that point and run with an under strength squad like today. Other teams creeping up fast though!🙄 3 Quote
RoverCanada Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Two things that irrationally bother me: 1) Nathan Jones' constant preening 2) Cornick's stupid hair Just now, Miker said: Why was Kamisnki so incensed? I think he was saying Cornick hit him in the balls? 1 Quote
oozy Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Our back 3 are just on a different level at the moment. 9 Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Good point under the circumstances. Tricky place to go with half your team out. Massive window for us now. 2-3 astute signings to cobble through and 4-5 players to return end of Feb for the run in. Quote
Beanie01289 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Have to take that point with all the players missing 1 Quote

neophox Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 A point and we're still second in the league. What we all can see this is a battling team with alot of spirits. Ayala coming on and being a real nuisance upfront last 15 mins was great to see. A said before last year we'd lost this game. Take the point. Now on to next game. 1 Quote

Swansea for us next week, we should be beating them but we need a few players back. Skeleton crew today. 1 Quote
imy9 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 So so proud of the team. hopefully we should have a lot of our attacking players back for the next game. Quote
superniko Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 A fairly solid 0-0, I thought we were lucky to be level at HT but 2nd half they did nothing and a point was fair enough overall. I think I counted 7 academy players out of 11 on the pitch at one point, very impressive but obviously shows our lack of depth. Our best 10 minutes was around the hour mark and it was the time Buckley was growing into the match more, making that substitution even more bizarre, as we did absolutely nothing afterwards. Back line were superb again, especially Van Hecke. Travis the other man who stood out to me, it was his kind of match (scrappy). Likewise Johnson did a job and fair play he’s managed back to back 90 minutes. It puts a little bit more pressure on the Swansea match, but a win there and we’ve got to be delighted with 4 points from the 2 fixtures (and 4 points clear of 3rd). For a bit of perspective, Luton were favourites for this match and getting through Boro (50/50) and Luton (Luton favs) with 4 points and no Brereton, Dolan, Rothwell, Pickering (Khadra for 1 match) as well as others, has to be seen as a success Now let’s get back to loaning some 16 year old lads and selling Rothwell to our rivals! 4 Quote
Miker Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 We have to keep going and keep the belief. One point at Luton is okay. We have to make sure we don't lose our confidence like last season. Constant injuries, incompetent refereeing and teams bullying us. We have to rise above it and keep pushing ahead. We definitely need more firepower given injuries, but I thought Zeefuik looked okay and JRC looked much better today, which is promising at least. Quote
RoverDom Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Didn't mind Ayala coming on but Buckley looked like the only person who'd have been able to put it on his head. Take a point didn't lose. You can't win every game and we were never going to be running away with automatics. If we get 2nd it'll be a scrap so days like today are not a cause for concern. Shows we need a couple of bodies in the door in the next couple of days though 1 Quote
frosty Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Take that. 9 clean sheets in 11 is it? That's superb and our defence alone should keep us up there. Though we can't afford to have games where we have that 11 that ended the game or anything close to it.... 1 Quote
neophox Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 West Brom lost 2-0 at Millwall...they are on a really poor run. Seems QPR are on a run. Reading dreadful side. Quote
LDRover Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Great point that. Looking back on the last 2 games and 4 points is a good return 2 Quote
Mr. E Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 What a fight this was. Players on both sides must be exhausted. For the rest of season though we need Rothwell and Ben back in the team, injury free....I fear anything less and the wheels will come off, as we are stretched to the very limits. We need to hit some stretch of injury luck. Quote
USABlue Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Good point in isolation. The mist noticable thing for me today, how much better we looked going forward once Gallagher went off, I hope Mowbary noticed too. Keep on trucking. Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Overall a dissappointing day, many if our rivals getting 2 points over on us. Suppose though with circumstances against us with no attackers, a point away at Luton isnt horrendous though. Back 3 were superb, Travis and Johnson both good too. Thought the decision to play Zeefuik in a forward position was the wrong one but thought he had a poor game, none of his runs led to anything. Rankin Costello was poor, his crossing is not up to scratch. Gallagher and Butterworth did nothing nor did Buckley who also kept wasting set pieces. Quote
neophox Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Zeefuick has really been thrown in to it...will make him better. Quote

Reading dreadful side. The bottom five - with the exception of Derby - are all way, way below the division standard tbh. The fact Derby are within 8 points of safety is remarkable really. One look at their GD compared to those around them (0 compared to -19, -22, -30, -25) shows that they shouldn't really be in the same bracket. 1 Quote
