I know he scored the other day but it's few and far between. We need a goalscorer so we can have a plan B if the false 9 isn't working.

Clearly not many have had the pleasure of seeing our 6'4" sixteen year old centre back, Ash Phillips in action?.....he'd step up to the first team mark next week, given the opportunity to do so and would excel. He's exceptional but just one of a wealth of young talent that will come through in the next 2/5 years and are good enough. 7

We very obviously play counter attacking football and a player who plays with his back to goal instead of on the shoulder would really slow transitions down. This is one of the reasons I'm a bit worried as to how Dack will fit into this team, he feels (to me) like one of those previous batch of players that probably should have moved on by now, if it wasn't for his injury. If we absolutely need a target man then Gallagher should be through the middle because he certainly isn't a winger. 1

Another enthralling deadline day Zeefuik, Hedges and Giles are cracking signings from what I can see (sad about the young lad from Spurs) Would like to see an old sub goalkeeper and a striker. There is still plenty of time, and with 3 more of our young strikers ready to go on loan I'd imagine we must be pretty confident.
garnersfags Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Historically, deadline day has only been frustrating and disappointing when we haven't made any window signings. We have made signings, and we are just trying to see what falls into place in terms of adding one more by midnight, but that will be a bonus. I would keep Davenport as attacking cover, as he has looked good off the bench in our winning run. Johnson will do a better job than posters think, as we get to the sharp end. We can do this, but a lot depends on the form of Khadra and Ben.... 4

Mega clubs signing players for their image rights happens. They'd certainly be able to exploit his popularity in Chile, unlike us. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if it happened in Summer. 1
Bbrovers2288 Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Hedges isn’t well regarded in Scotland 2

jim mk2 Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Giles seems to have a good left peg on him to judge from videos. And he can take a decent corner and free kick Which will be a novelty 4

Yep, he Wharton and Leonard look like real talents. 🙂 1
neophox Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Still the money from Armstrong has not been invested in a striker... Still Nyambe, Lenihan and Rothwell has not signed new contracts... Still shambles with getting new signings over the line... Still have one of the best chance in many years to being promoted and make millions... If I was owner of Blackburn Rovers FC I would be really worried about how our board of directors fare are mismanaging the club. 5

You think the Armstrong warchest is sat there with the owners willing people to sell and it just incompetence below that prevents that?

We must have SOME money last week we were close to bringing in a foreign based attacker and every interview Mowbrays been talking about incomings. Why is he saying this if no funds? 1
neophox Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Both Burns and McBride has left.... must be a striker coming in... 2
