On the plus side Giles looks a great bit of business. People think he’s cover for Pickering, I think it’ll be the other way round. Yes I was thinking that. Surely he'll be first choice, Pickering number 2 and Edun (who I thinks been a poor signing) number 3?

Sounds like he’s only out of the door as he’s fallen out with Ismael. Would add some real experience in helping us to potentially get over the line. Any elderly strikers available? Just anyone with legs basically so if Brereton is out Mowbray can’t play Ayala?
Popular Post Ghost7
It just seems very, very unusual to me that our budget wasn't increased slightly considering we're 2nd in the league. What a huge opportunity missed to get a few more permanent players in while the club was looking so attractive. I expected quite a bit more and I bet the players were hoping for it too. Hedges was a target for a team that finished 15th last year. Hope he does well but it's hardly inspiring, he was coming for free in the summer anyway. Zeefuik and Giles are good signings but not really what was needed, so that is a bit disjointed. An odd window overall given our position, and it started so positively! I would like to know who is responsible for us being totally unable to sign a striker in any transfer window, someone is hindering us (Manager? Owners? CEO? Scouts? )... Overall a 6/10. It really will be something special if we go up!

He must have lost his notebook.

jim mk2
The management at Rovers taking all day to get one loan over the line is similar to the incompetence that allowed Man United to steal Roy Keane from under our noses back in the 1990s. Amateurs is too kind a word
islander200
Hopefully Hedges can chip in.Even if Dack is only back fully fit for the final 6 or 7 games he will be a valuable asset to have. Maybe Rankin Costello will play a part further forward as despite Mani's belief he can't be being thought of as a wb with Nyambe/Zeefuik right Giles/Pickering/Edun left

Who is doing the negotiating? Who signs off? If it’s Waggott and Venus then it’s akin to having the Chuckle brothers behind the scenes. One is a terrible CEO and the other is an assistant manager! It just strikes me as a two bob operation and on deadline day it really gets found out. The second we come up against any sort of competition, we’re gazumped. Truthfully if you was in a room with Waggott, would you sign on dotted line? His arrogance up there with Agnew
roverandout
Any normal club second in the league would push the boat out. Not spend a few hundred grand on players with potential or average to middling players. I could understand if we were a Barnsley or similar but rovers are a big club with multi millionaire owners. This window has been a big let down but what's new.

glen9mullan
Its the 1st February, i think we can all agree being 2nd in the league with 17 games to go is "wow factor" It feels special, more so than our league 1 campaign. We can see the premier league in the distance, it could be ours come may. We go back to August and if this had been predicted, people be questioning "what you smoking?" After years of decline, the dream of returning to the promised land, is more than just a dream. I personally didn't think we'd see top flight football again. Its certainly a different premier league than the one we left, when people are paying £12 million loan fees with bonus's if they stay up. Its going to be nail biting, its going to be a roller coaster, 7 or 8 other teams supporters are also daring to dream. Crowds are increasing, this window will define our season, if TM is satisfied we have enough, we have to trust that judgement. He deserves that, he has put the smiles back in our faces . Swift at Reading only has months left on his contract and on paper he’s the best attacking midfielder in the league.

It really will be something special if we go up! We absolutely needed depth at L and RWB. Those two positions are pivotal to this formation and we only had Nyambe an Pickering who could play there. Everyone else was makeshift at best.

A lot. 2nd part completely agree . We've had since Armstrong was sold to identify and bring in a half decent striker. We seem to have this problem every window being unable to get deals over the line.

joey_big_nose
If you put the injuries to one side it's been a pretty good window. Probs only missing piece a striker, but without the injuries not a big issue. Giles, Zeefuik solid signings, Malanday exciting, Hedges a wait and see. Holding onto all of Lenihan, Nyambe and Rothwell really good (though need to see where Rothwell is at - I think to be honest he will come back and be good for us as not playing will hurt him in terms of the bonus and any move he gets) With the injuries though we do look light up top. Got to hope BBD and Khadra stay fit. BBD also out in March which is a big concern. But overall we've added four first squad players and lost none which is better than many a window we've had.
