TheRoversReturn Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 End of the day, we missed some absolute sitters. Shockers. We can quibble about lots of things about tonight, but they are the reason we don't have three points. We missed two open goals from the six-yard box. We've thrown away the points tonight. 2 Quote

He was awful in that position last time we tried it. But I agree, that's probably where he'll have to slot in. Edited February 5, 2022 by RoverKyle 2 Quote

Ghost7 Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 I've just watched Ryan Giles cross a football for 90 minutes. Really poor tactics executed well. 4 Quote

yankfan Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 (edited) Remember when the window closed and TM said something like, “The phone was ringing with clubs offering big number 9s, but we did listen because we don’t play that style…so why bring one in?” With 61 F’n crosses sure would have been nice for our promotion chances to have an ugly monster like that to put up top. not to have the foresight that in the last 17 games that sort of tactic might have been needed is mental Edited February 5, 2022 by yankfan 4 Quote
Atko's Engine Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Frustrating, but let's not be too down. On another day that's at least a point, one poor bit of defending lost us that. Plenty of time to go yet. 1 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 the most annoying facet of tonights match was the shear lack of intensity from us,a side second in the league with a chance to go four points clear of third ???,f*****g sure qpr or huddersfield would`nt be playing at walking pace, fannying about passing square all match, mind you, they`ve actually got a centre forward to play off 1 Quote
Doogs Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Should have sold Rothwell. He doesn't influence games as a top midfielder should. 1 Quote
blondie Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 If you look at Giles video clips at Cardiff he has Moore and Flint to cross to, we have dwarfs. 2 Quote

Was shocked at the lack of intensity in the 5 a side game. Very lazy and half hearted. You train how you play. Maybe concerned about injuries. We have a list of those after all. Quote

Backroom DE. Posted February 5, 2022 Backroom Posted February 5, 2022 We've scored 2 goals in the last 6 league games. This is not just a bad game in front of goal, it's a clear issue. 7 Quote

I remember people on transfer deadline night shitsplaining why we didn't need a goalscorer. I hope the penny has dropped. Doesn't matter now though. 6 Quote

For a good while, the team picked itself and Tony managed to stop himself from meddling. That was never going to carry on indefinitely, and instead of using common sense and getting a (fit and available) striker in to give us a Plan B, Tony let his ego run away with him and expects us to walk the ball into the net. 2 Quote
OldEwoodBlue Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 2022 form 8 points from 18 (ignoring getting knocked out the cup by Wigan). At that rate we get to 74 points. Last season that was not in the play offs. Season before it was. We need to thrash someone and start a new run ASAP. Quote
rovers11 Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Realistically, we're not a top 2 team. Far from it actually. We're a mid table side at best so we should remember how brilliantly we're doing despite the absolute rubbish we've seen over the past 4 games. Top 6 has to be the aim. Giving it out wide to Giles to cross into the box as our only attacking tactic is not the way forward though. If the plan is to play like that then why did TM turn down the chance to sign an out and out striker. It beggars belief sometimes. 5 Quote
