Would be a real Statement of intent and potential future captain, somebody to build the defence around for many years to come he openly loved his time here and his affinity with the fans.

que the ffp fairies to shut that little dream down....

He's a PL CB, Brighton would be insane to let him go.

So current squad (that are ready to play championship football) is as follows:

GK's - Kaminski, Pears (not ideal but far more pressing matters)

CB's - Ayala for half a season, Wharton, Carter. Yikes. Need at least 2.

RB's - Brown. Another needed. JRC is shit.

LB's - Pickering. Edun is apparently better in CM and he's still shit. Another needed.

CM's - Travis, Buckley. Yikes again. Need at least 2, if not 3.

Wingers - Dolan, BBD, Markanday, Hedges. Not terrible, but you'd imagine BBD will be sold

Central attackers - Gallagher, Dack, Vale. At least 2 needed. Dack backup and another out and out striker.

May have missed some, but I don't think there's anyone glaringly missing from that.

Best get cracking.

It's a hell of a rebuild.

Think you can have 5 loans in a matchday squad - suspect we'll lean heavily on that.

Hugo Vetlesen is a young midfelder at Bodö/Glimt worth a watch..... scored the winner against Roma in an 2-1 win in april.

Not sure how the rules work, but he's yet to make his international debut if you don't count the U21s. Might make a work permit tricky.

If Football Manager is anything to go by, work permits for non-internationals are a pain in the arse.

He should qualify due to playing a large amount of minutes for Bodo in the league, them winning the title and doing so well in the ECL with him playing a large % of the minutes in that too. I just calculated him to 16 points without an international cap using the below:

Wonder if JDT will ask about Colak who scored a load of goals for him including a brace against Rangers. Currently at PAOK but not getting much game time.

What about Loui Annesley? The guy are the star in an dull Gibraltar side.... he plays in midfeld in the national team. Can he make the step up in defence for Rovers?

Saw they had a 1-1 draw with Bulgaria, astonishing result for Gibraltar...

Chaddy is currently scouring all the Scandinavian leagues and will appear shortly with a mighty list of viking contenders, most of which most of us will have never heard of.

Mercer is placing bets on some obscure signings and stocking up on Vino Collapso for when they get stuffed.

I am just a bit giddy since the manager fiasco hasn't dragged on forever and ever.

No, no and yet again no. Non-league is his level.

I am impatient for June 23rd, then I can plan for the season ahead. Two new grounds for me this season, Sunderland and Cardiff.

The first signing has got to be Nyambe IMO.

If he leaves, it's yet another player to find.

If he stays, the problem disappears.

Indeed. Clutching at the biggest of straws but Nyambe liked Rovers' Instagram post announcing JDT so maybe he's impressed with the appointment and considering staying. Would be a huge boost.

Van Hecke liked another one about JDT but that's probably dreamland stuff.....

Nyambe signing a new contract will save a lot of hassle. Solid right back at this level.

Yes, would be a great replacement for BBD if he goes, and for buttons in comparison.

Don’t think van Hecke is outside the realm of possibility. Either another loan or permanent with a sell-on clause. Brighton are letting Østigård leave after several seasons out on loan.

Well documented I'm not a huge fan of Nyambe. However, defensively/1 on 1 he is solid. And with it solving one of the recruitment problems then I'll happily see him sign on.
