Miker
If it took us 12 months to sign Brittain, how long until the next signing?

You’re supposed to have some level of knowledge of football and you’d want / expect a new member of staff to come out and tell us exactly why / what issues or what exact plans are? Every day to satisfy a message board? Over trumped? Like Buckley and Dolan do you mean? Remember what the former did to your boy Whiteman? Half the u23s… you mean Carter might start Saturday (aka someone who has “big strong man” experience) and we might have Markanday / Vale involved from the bench? You’re always looking for an argument. How else do you explain your half baked, half arsed and mostly wrong assertions? A load of tosh ! 1. Fess up , yes he needs to come out and tell us where we are with new players to replace the ones he let go as DOF. 2. U23s from last season shouldn't be integral part of a promotion chasing champion side/squad, irrespective of my views on JB and TD 3. Carter is a Donkey and will struggle in a 3 which is JDT preferred formation. Carter not quick enough or technical enough. Not looking as much as you seem to be....with your personal attacks. I'm a premier member so watch it laddie

SuperBrfc
Carter will get found out this season. Celtic ran rings around him, which is understandable, but he wasn't exactly all that against Lincoln either. We need better back there.

Most Championship wingers will have him on toast at right back, in my opinion. He can be played around one with quick one twos, as Lincoln did a couple of times on Saturday. I think we're seriously overrating some of these players we have.

The only reason he played 3 CB's in early pre-season is that he had a lot of CB's and not many CM's. That was told to Sharpe. Jon Dahl Tomasson at Blackburn Rovers 2022/23 - tactical analysis (totalfootballanalysis.com) "In possession, Tomasson set his Malmö side up primarily in a 4-2-3-1" "Out of possession...When not engaging in a press Tomasson sets his side up in a mid-block. This midblock takes place in a 4-5-1 formation"

As you say, we will only be able to spend 70% of revenue on wages in 3 years time (it's being phased in over 3 years to help clubs adapt) so we need to either slash our wage bill by then or dramatically increase revenue. You’re right, but some on here don’t want to know, like FFP doesn’t exist, it does and even though everyone wants new faces in, including me we just can’t pay wages we can’t afford with our revenue, we have to be smart, get players in but without paying massive wages. Also we need quality players not just squad men, takes time when we are in our position and even though they are saying it’s a healthy budget we won’t be busting our wage structure, fingers crossed DOF can work some magic. One player you were actually right on is Whiteman iv been impressed with him in the main, still tho Buckley did have him on a bit of string when we played them last season .

I think your seriously overrating other championship squads, you will find on par or worse than Carter on most of them. Oh and at least one centre half will be signed
Admiral Nelsen
I think Pickering was the one who was really given a torrid time against Celtic. Carter struggled too, but was clearly out of position. We can't be expecting him to replace Lenihan or Van Hecke with the same quality, but with two successful L1 loans I'm happy to have him as an option to see how he does. On paper, he has established himself at a higher level than Wharton before he took his chance. 25 minutes ago, Sparks Rover said: I watched him quite a bit and my assessment is above. Not quick enough or comfortable enough on the ball to play in a 3..... Almost all of my knowledge of him is from the handful of Rovers appearances that he's made and second hand reports of him from his loans. I'm surprised that you mention his lack of comfort on the ball though. Without claiming that he's Beckenbauer, I thought the consensus was that he could play a bit for a player of his size?
