That list is obsolete - the first page alone is filled with premier league players/loaners who were signed when clubs were in the PL. In todays market most of them are out of contract and will never be signed for such wages again. Interesting to note Rovers are not amongst the top payers because it couldn’t be sustained in any way!

Re Rothwell, if we’d sold him to a rival in January this M/B would have been in meltdown. Fair play to the owners for refusing good money but it went drastically wrong, now all the captain hindsight’s are saying we should have sold him, and you’re right no one knows how much we’ve offered the other 2,  so why does everyone say we didn’t  offer enough… might come out one day. I personally think Lenihan got a good offer but who knows.

Not if Mowbray had lined up Twine or a couple of other solid names.

We would have failed to reach the play-offs with or without Rothwell, so the MB meltdown was bound to happen in both scenarios.

I think the new management will soon find out that it's a tough task to bring in the players they want when they see what we can offer in fees and basic wages. My only hope is that we sort potential recruits in different brackets, with 'marquee signings' being one of them, making us able to push the boat out for certain type of players with the potential resale value taken into account.

That’s nothing but rumour I doubt for one moment if the clubs transfer policies are governed by venkies there’s not a chance he would have just got away with signing his mates son and to think it is just utter rubbish

oh come on you can`t be so naive, look at when darren ferguson was manager at pne,his dad loaned him 3 utd players

That’s different some one is alleging Mowbrays did his mate a favour and gave Pears a 4 yr deal - that is something that clearly is not true it’s rabid speculation

If we don’t sign better players than Lenihan and Nyambe, then there’s every reason for ‘doom and gloom’. Particularly if we’re paying Ayala a decent wedge to ensure the physios aren’t lonely….

Agree, if and it’s a big if, Ayala keeps fit with Wharton and Carter steps up, 1 more decent c/b should be ok, personally think a Nyambe replacement shouldn’t be too hard to find, thought Nyambe was not too bad, but not improved, think we can do better.

Are you able to name another 23-24 year old with that many league games and a RB who would be a suitable replacement?

Ayala needs selling

We didn’t sign Myles Anderson because of who his dad was. To suggest otherwise was rabid speculation.

If we needed a backup keeper and Mowbray said Pears was the man for the job and he also knew him and his family and could guarantee he was the right ‘character’, it would probably convince Venkys even more.

Your assertion that I objected to was that "Top Championship defenders are on £50k p.w."

That list proves otherwise as according to that only 12 players total allegedly earned those figures in 2021/22.

If you're going to pull up stats, at least pull up ones which support your point of view.

Interesting to see the discrepancy in the list between Lenihan at nearly £12k and Rothwell and Nyambe at only c £4.5k. I wouldn't say there should be much discrepancy between any of the 3 myself. No wonder RN and JR were cheesed off.

exactly, there must be hundreds of signing over the years where "family and friends" have influenced a transfer

Diaz is on substantially less than Pickering and Edun? Two nondescript young lads brought in from the lower leagues.

Hmmm.

But obviously a totally legit site to have accurate salaries of every player in the division.

Unless you can provide hard evidence to dispute this fact then it is clearly true. No amount of blathering will chance facts.

Anderson was a simple ploy by the agent not the club i think this well publicised in any case it’s not comparative to the pears theory

Think of "the flex".

If Pickering and bloody Edun are pushing 10k a week then this new fabled wage structure looks to be built on dubious foundations already.

No, facts are facts, a proven truth, and as you have no actual insight into what occurred with that signing, your *opinion* is no more a fact than those saying that he was a jobs for the boys signing.

Let's add Hedges to it with Mowbrays uncle or something at Hedges previous club.

Add to the conspiracy.

Back in the day a lad I played with and against got taken on at Huddersfield because his dad had a word. He was a Football League ref at the time.

darren mowbray, tony`s younger brother and in charge of aberdeens recruitment policy, purely rampant speculation that he had anything to do with the transfer of ryan hedges to his brothers club blackburn🤣,to be fair to hedges though he did enough to show he was`nt a complete stiff,he was quite good towards the end of the season

Thought Hedges was shit personally.

But anyway.

Mowbray, Mowbrays best mate, Pears

Mowbray, Mowbrays Brother, Hedges
