Hypothetical question , would you take Barkley if it meant losing Dack to Sunderland

Yes! I love Dack and think he is important on and off field, but Barkley is class.

If I was Rovers I Would make a significant bid for Bowler today, leak it in media to stir  up the Blackpool camp and make trouble before the game today.

I doubt anyone will sign Dack from us. Whose going to match the wages we are paying, let alone a decent fee, for a player who has had two ACLs and is yet to show he can play at this level consistently.

Dack will be here till end of his contract (summer 2023 with one year extension clause in clubs favour).

I cannot believe that some posters genuinely think we have a shot at Barkley.

Even by this forum’s standards, it’s ridiculous.

Exactly, he will have plenty of options. Even if he were to drop down to this division, you'd think a relegated side would pick him up. Probably end up in Europe or Celtic/Rangers.

No idea who this guy is, simply picked it up off NewsNow. He's saying Breton wants help us to promotion and then leave.

Then he should agree to a new contract with a release clause you'd think.

Yeah, we did that link a few pages back. So honourable of him to help the club by staying, not signing a contract, and losing the club 15 million so that he can try to fire us all to the PL and he get a fat signing on wegde somewhere.

The poster said hypotethical question. Are you fun at parties? Every discussion has to be based on 100% facts and realism?

It's a win win situation with George Hirst. Performs we sign him on perm and doesn't he go back to Leicester

And how do we afford that?

More likely is we put him in the shop window, he does alright and then another Championship club comes in with the money more quickly than we do.

Sergio Pena wants out of Malmö it seems, don't know if he ever worked with JDT, but cracking player on his day. Peruvian national player as well, so should get a work permit. No idea if realistic or if he would come here.

Where on earth has Barkleys name come from? 🤣

A new poster threw that hook in yesterday, claiming insider knowledge and got a number of bites.

Gullible is the word......

If you are discussing it as an actual goer for a deadline day transfer, of course it needs to be based on some semblance of reality. Or why not, start discussing half the PL?

If you are just fantasy football musing how he’d fit in with Travis in the midfield, then fair enough. It can go in the legendary pile with Wilkins, Zidane, Ronaldinho et al.

Dead right!

Deluded Chaddy! Its the opposite thats the case. Performs and he either goes back to Leicester or they sell him to someone who can afford him!

Fails to perform and we pay his wages for nothing.

Its literally lose-lose!! And next season we have to solve the problem of a striker all over again. Its literally just putting off the problem for another year.WE've been doing that for years now.

The only way we can win out of it this is if he is so key to our squad that we get promoted! What are the chances?

Yep.

Sadly, Dack's injuries have done for him.

There is a real player there in Barkley - a move to us might just be his final wake-up call.

Well no we will have the option to buy for a fixed fee.

That's what been discussed these last few pages so JHRover isn't dead right at all.

The same way we afforded Sam Gallagher, Brererton and to a lesser extent Armstrong.

Hirst fits the model of those 3...young striker with potential.

We can't afford/want to gamble this season on Leicester's asking price, the option will be in our favour or no point in doing it.So if at season end we feel he is worth the fee written in the option then we pay it and make the deal permanent

I'm with JH on the fee, we don't have £5m for 1 player, we need to buy an entire team with that, but this deal is perfect for a club like ours with no money, its a win win situation for us.

A deal rising to £2.5 for Szmodic at least £1 million of that down payment,Brittain £1 million rising to £1.5, Dom Hyam £1.5-£2 million.

One of the higher net spends in the championship this summer....Fact.

With respect we needed the £5 million spent on Gallagher spent on other areas and same with Brererton, but the money was spent on an individual project player.

Heard all this before ...."we won't pay a fee for a goalkeeper"...Kaminski signed. This summer "we won't pay a fee for a defender"....we did.

Nobody on here can second guess what the owners will do.They do spend on the squad, sporadically and the taps get turned off but they have spent on the squad.
