A quick google turns up 4 managers that have called their team's performance "unacceptable" in the last month alone:

Mikel Arteta- Arsenal 

Steve Bruce- WBA

Danny Cowley- Portsmouth 

Shaun Maloney- Hibs. Who declared his team "Not good enough for top six, top four, or Europe!"

 

Has Mowbray EVER come out and been honest enough to make such an assessment? In the 6 odd years he's been here?

We all know it's been "unacceptable" many, many times.

The closest I can find is "That was our poorest performance of the season", "below our normal standard" and "we didn't compete well enough".

That's it! That's the most contrite he's mustered throughout all the death spirals and endless disappointments. The record non-winning runs, the record 7-0 home loss. The calamitous second half of season collapses. 

If he had just once come out and called a spade a spade, I might have an ounce of respect left for him.

As it is, him and his mealy mouthed press conferences can piss right off....for good.

I was considering getting a ST next season for the first time since Coyle rocked up now that i have a bit more time to go. However if he remains then not a chance regardless of how this season ends now because you can script exactly how it'll go and what will get said.

He doesn't give a shiny shite what fans think as long as he's getting his money and keeping his old boys club happy. That became clear last season with the stuff he was coming out with helped by the safety of an empty ground. Some true colours really shone through before he went back on a bit of charm offensive early this season.

There are no doubt worse managers out there but there are also a host of them on the dole who'd do similar to Mowbray with the same backing and patience. One of them just might have the gumption to do a bit better or just get lucky.

This team is a manifestation of the manager. Devoid of ideas and passion. When did we last score in last min or injury time to win or save a game under TM? We do manage to consistently concede late on.

I just want a manager who cares and who will respect the club. Somebody who you know is trying and who will bring everybody on the same page with his mentality.

I remember Dyche speaking well about Rovers and the fans before we played them in the cup in 2017. You could tell he was being genuine too and I've respected him ever since, even though he represented the dark side. I would have him here in a shot if it was possible.

Veljko Paunovic, the former Reading manager, was glowing when talking about Rovers, Ewood and how proud he was to manage at our ground, before we faced his side. A historic ground which he knew about from his younger days watching English football on TV and one he "dreamt of playing at".

We are still a big draw and can do better than Mowbray, even with these owners here. This lot would have us believe that we can't hope for any better, mid table is the best we can achieve and that we are lucky to have Mowbray. My response to all of that is unprintable.

Mowbray flip flops that much that he can't remember what he has said in the recent past. It is possible that somebody fills him in on some of the criticisms going around resulting in him throwing a line out to try and address or quell such comments.

A few days ago there was a headline on the LT saying "Rovers aren't feeling the pressure". Yet a few weeks back he was telling us how the young lads are feeling the pressure as they have never been near the top before. He was getting pelted on here for that, then that headline appears in the LT this week.

He's told us how it is difficult to compete with clubs who have parachute payments. We've gone in on his defeatist outlook a number of times recently. Yet just a few weeks ago he was quoted in the LT as saying "we can beat anybody".

I've noticed how, every now and then, he will say something that is a response to the critics. Almost like he realises he needs to be a bit more positive when talking about the club. The thing is, it ends up sounding odd as it doesn't match up with his previous views. Whatever it is, we're wasting our time with him. Time for a fresh approach and a manager who does the basics well.

I think we reached a point a long time ago where he thinks he is bigger than little old Blackburn Rovers now. He's doing us a favour by managing us when his expertise could be put to bigger and better use. Some of the crap Waggot has trotted about backs that delusion up.

And some of our fans who lap it up well don't get me started on them, scaremongering is one thing in regards to keeping him but actually believing he's that good is another. The unexpected couple of months blinding form has given him carte blanche to blow it completely this season in some eyes.

All because well we'd have taken where we are now at the beginning of the season, that's been being said whilst we go 5th. 6th, 7th, 8th. Cannot grasp the trajectory we are on and how it really needn't be like that. 

Just like the misguided assumptions all would be well once BBD and Dack were back. Well they are and it isn't.

I'd reluctantly have to take some time away from the club if he did. I'd probably still do a few away days with mates but wouldn't be stepping foot in Ewood.

I keep saying this but the people in charge, not just at Rovers, have no idea how much football means to us, we can't just shrug and get on with it. 

At a time people are having to make cut backs and budget accordingly, Blackburn Rovers will be way down peoples lists at present. Burnley are lucky they sold so many season tickets up front cos I imagine they'll face some fan backlash over the Dyche sacking.
