Tony Mowbray

Conning has been around Rovers a long time and is or at least was Blackburn based.

I seem to remember he might have been the one a poster on here kept implying he was trying to snap up all the academy players at Ewood.  Various hints that some at Rovers were in cahoots on this and the players were basically being press ganged into it.

I may or may not be wrong on that though as there was a lot going on at the time.

I’ve heard the same, but haven’t been able to find any evidence either.

I did however find that Mike was with SEM in his playing days.

I have been reliably informed that they are indeed cousins and that Dave Sheron is still very much pulling Suhails strings.

Scary isn’t it, how the original people involved in the takeover, are somehow still around.

The bad advice continues then?

February Frustrations

Rovers in the Championship, under Mowbray, in February (Feb 17 - Present)

P 22 W 3 D 7 L 12 F 21 A 31 Pts 16 GD - 10

Last victory in February, 15th, 2020.

A 0-2 victory away at Charlton with Buckley and Adarabioyo on the scoresheet.

But as of right now....Sack him? 😆 Oh I do love that ignore button!

Was looking at this again, 3 more games in Feb after your stats, 1 win.

Have also added in Boro's stats under him 2012 & 2013 (1 win in 6, 2 wins in 5).

By my counting, in full Championship seasons, Tony Mowbray has managed 36 games in February and won 7 of them.

That is a recipe for failure right there. Doesn't matter whether your chasing promotion or fighting relegation, if you blow that key month every season it's going to derail you every time.

And when you factor in that Feb is usually only part of a Mowbray death spiral, really does highlight what a specialist in failure he is.

Well that's depressing.

So we can basically expect another HSH reject as our next manager.

If that's the case, my interest in Rovers next season might just wane significantly.

Wayne Rooney said yesterday he hoped Mel Morris had a sleepless night for his part in Derby's demise. Our absent owners have ruined our club, pissed all over Jack Walkers legacy and still some of our supporters are beholden to them and even worse trust them.

I wouldn't give them the time of day.

I wouldn't give them the steam off my piss.

So if Dave Sheron is pulling strings, his cousin Mike is already at Rovers managing our U23 team......

What are the chances of our next first team manager being....Mike Sheron? Easily passed off as an internal promotion for Mike.

Or am I reading too much into it? 🥲

I may be misremembering, but regarding budgets, didn't Mowbray say in our first season back in the Championship that he encouaged the owners to spend less? I remember thinking it was a bonkers statement at the time, and I can't help but wonder what the motivation behind that was. Can't say I'm convinced it was for the good of the club when you factor in the wages wasted on the likes of Smallwood, Hart, Mulgrew, etc when there was no need to do so.

Anyway on another note to lighten the mood, for anyone out there who likes a small flutter?

I own a racehorse who is running at Perth on Thursday.

We've been nursing him back from an injury and after a prep run, ran very well last time out to come 3rd.

He is in excellent form at home and has won 25% of his races, and the race has cut up well for Thursday so i'm expecting him to win,

Midnight moss

Trappy 4 horse veteran's race Glen? I'll stick an ayrton on.

Been looking into affordable horse ownership for a few months, how much are monthly fees (ish) if you don't mind me asking?

Needed to keep some cash free to keep his HSH mates in wages.

Unbelievable how much this agency has bled out of our club.

It really does depend on who you go with trainer wise, and how much of the horse you own.

Avoid large syndicates or an annual ownership.

We bought our stake in midnight, 1 of 4 available at a drop down price due to the injury he sustained so with Vat it was around £1000 which was a steal given he was lightly raced and had either won or placed in his runs.

Obviously with four people owning the horse, training fees are split, so its around a couple of hundred a month, but we can claim the vat back, which covers jockey fees, travel etc.

All prize money is split between owners.

However the big thing is with the trainer i'm with is race day. If I want to go to the races where he has a runner, i can take family and friends for free.

We go in owners section, get fed for free, tea n coffeee for free, free parking, access to stables, access to parade ring. We do really get treated like kings and queens and its far cheaper than taking a box at rovers for a game or two.

We have loads of champagne breakfasts, BBQ's and open days at the stables. I can go any day i want to the stables, see my horse, watch him on gallops, discuss tactics with the jockeys, discuss where we send him next. Its just an great experience.

Overall he pays his way, he should win Thursday and its just under 5k to winner, but if he comes 2nd its still a few grand.

We are registered owners at Wetherbys and believe it or not, had to sit a fit and propper test and prove affordability.

Anyone with a few spare bob, I recommend it, its an emotional rollercoaster and the way Oliver does it, its affordable.

Thanks. Back in the day my old man was part owner of a few horses, generally with Kevin Ryan. Used to love the days out, his best horse actually ran in the Nunthorpe in the Ebor meeting at York, great days and always treated well.

Played golf at Gleneagles the other weekend, that was a hike but Perth is another hour up the road!

Thanks for the information. Just the other day it was said on here that the person/people above Suhail are the problem. This information along with the agent's tweet from this morning paints a clearer picture as to who is causing problems at this football club. HSH.

I'm making it my mission to get as many football fans as possible looking towards HSH and their dodgy behaviour at Rovers. I will be visiting a few forums just to get some of it out there.

Good Lad. All strength to your bow.

Glen I note here you used the word diagnosis.

We don't know each other (and I wouldnt  expect you to divulge any information so please don't think this is me fishing) but I wanted to wish you good health and say I do hope it's nothing too serious... and somewhat enviously also praise you for following a dream!

Nothing in life is an extravagance if it makes you and others very happy and I'm very guilty of hesitating when it comes to spending money, so it's nice to see something positive on here which is real life  rather than the miserable shite we are all discussing at the moment about sport.

Peace and love

And how many of our youngsters might be coerced into signing for Sheron as their agent?

The stench currently coming from Ewood and Brockhall is horrible.

Yep, the club looks as stitched up as it's ever been. All bases covered by the shysters in the shadows.
