I wonder whether Waggott has given Bayes a call to drop in the "new, high profile names" bit into his information.

Season ticket deadline approaching remember.

He’s definitely spoken to Sharpe and Bayes hasn’t it, there must be a reason why he mentioned the high profile names.

None of us had heard Coyle until he was stood waving a scarf down at Brockhall. None of us had heard Mowbray until he was appointed.

This lot have a nasty surprise up their sleeve and can ruin even the simplest of decisions. Lets remember Warnock.

It is clear Carvalhal wants the job. It is clear he is more qualified than most who have been linked or would be interested. He will quite rightly want to bring his team with him. Any decent manager will.

Thats a huge claim suggesting no one had any rumours about Mowbray being looked at😜

Carlos has informed Rovers that he will only come if his staff comes with him ….

so if the coffee drinkers on the coaching staff are released that’s a sign that they are clearing the decks ……

He has also had an interview with a Gulf club in the Middle East & they are getting the vibes that he wants to join Rovers so have given him a deadline ….They have approached another Portuguese coach to put pressure on him ….

GET IT DONE, clearout and new faces are what we desperately need.

I just wonder what on earth an interview with “the owners” will look like. Which of them conducts it? Are they finally going to embrace zoom or some similar video calling software, or make them travel to India? That’s without the fact they will have to ask some questions on a subject they are utterly clueless about.

’So Carlos, can you repeat after me… “The owners are supportive, knowledgeable and humble”

Hmmm, not bad, but Nigel said it better’

In all seriousness I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this step in the process put decent candidates off.

A 2nd interview isn’t exactly unheard of…what matters is whether it is seen more as a rubber-stamp to confirm a local recommendation…

I suspect many on here will fear it is more than that.

I’d absolutely expect discussions to be in depth and carry on for a while with any managerial appointment, but I fear Venky’s involvement in any way, shape or form.

If it's quick, professionally conducted and as much about the owners selling themselves and the club to the preferred candidate as validating the candidate then great.

But.... Will it be like that? My money's on slow to happen and revealing of a lack of plan and vision by the owners, and even a clear idea who the candidate is. Just my gut feel.

I have been looking at Lancs live articles, they reckon Carvahal was interviewed earlier this week, and the interviews will be finalised today. Another article says theres been interest in Philips the under 23s player. There was a lot of good things said about him earlier in the season. Lets hope we can hang on to him.

Their Rovers reporter is new in post and is basically summarising what other reporters have already said.

Philips has his first pro contract kicking in soon, so hopefully we can let him prosper in the first team and benefit from that, rather than him going off to a premier league club now to cut his teeth.

The vision aspect is one that should be provided by the applicant is it not?

‘Logical reasons’, main one being ‘no bugger’s buying them’ ?

Despite your (and others) reservations about ticket sales, you will be surprised to see the club are in fact on track to reach the pre-pandemic level of sales looking at the numbers sold so far.

In any decent organisation, the employer shoud also 'sell' the company to the candidate.

If they want the best candidates, that is.

I would be surprised, and I’d be happy enough if we can get back to c9k+ of 2019/20 (though imagine being happy with 9k sales a few years back, but it’s a base to work from).

* But be wary of the club over egging the positivity when it comes to sales, heard it before; I.e ‘on track’, ‘not far from…’ The reality may be very different.

And the Season ticket deadline needs to be extended to end June for all sorts of logical reasons.....

I think Rovers would sell more Season tickets if they wait till the new manager is in place. Like you say end of June deadline.

Well done Carlos, it is of course a no brainer we need to clear the decks. Having him and his coaching staff come in will hopefully be like hitting the players with a bucket of ice water after 5 and a bit years of Mowbray and Venus and even longer with Lowe.

Be a bit harsh on Johnson possibly, Mowbray stitched him up good and proper by bringing  him in to the first team picture then making him a very peripheral figure.

I pay for my ticket on the day they play. I only missed 2 matches last season, that was due to looking after a family members dog while they were on holiday.
