Which utterly brilliant manager will we be delighted to welcome next?

Maybe we're hard to please.

That lot up the road seem happy with Kompany, JDT so far has a better managerial CV than him?

Would our fans be happier with Kompany? I wouldn't....

They'll just get first dibs on City academy players on loan like Harwood Bellis 😄

It's his assistant (Bellamy) I'd be more worried about. Doesn't seem the most reliable nor stable of people to have knocking around in such an important role.

Everytime I read or hear about Bellamy in podcasts or various autobiographies, the general consensus is that he was absolutely brutal with certain people in dressing rooms. At Rovers it was Pedersen who he singled out, a lot.

Wonderful player, one of my favourite to play for Rovers, but I wonder about his tempremant as a number two.

That’s the worry. Both the new DOF and JDT will be relative novices regarding current English championship football. One we could get away with but not two.

The DoF has worked in football for 20 years, many of those in England.

J D T has no has no Championship experience which initially was a pre-requisite for the job.

Broughton only experienced at Academy level.

Head of Recruitment leaving.

Where is the knowledge of players available going to come from?

An assistant manager with Championship experience required plus a Head of Recruitment ASAP.

Plus the added complication of a work permit.

A lot of work to do in a short space of time.

We are well and truly scraping the bottom of the barrel now and even at this level we can't afford the dregs.

Roll up roll up, season tickets for sale, roll up........

At a normal club this would be an exciting gamble. At this club it'll most likely be a disaster as there is little to no competent infrastructure to support the management and coaching staff.

£430 a season ticket. Absolutely disgusting.

£530 in the JWU.

Head of recruitment- done diddly squat apart from having a mate at Brighton.

Broughton has a background with clubs working in tandem with the first team and academy. He's qualified to the highest level as a coach also. Pretty sure he did one of his qualifications with Gerrrard. He's also got an academic, sport science and background in bringing players through to the first team- let's not forget travis only got his second chance due to a number of injuries and Mowbray played bloody Johnson up front when he could have used youth.

Knowledge of players- Denmark and Norway and other untapped areas. Got to be better value than Tayo out there.

but agree the head coach needs to hit the ground running. Having said that a work permit should not affect him spending a few days with the players this week and advising a plan for the following week even if he is not physically there.

I’m quite excited by the prospect of JDT. Yes it’s a gamble but compared to some of the names mentioned (Pardew etc) one I would take.

Huge pedigree in the game, success at his previous clubs and a winner.

As a comparator, Farke had done nada except a stint at Dortmund B team and look how that went.

Bring it on and let’s get behind him.

(Cue an Adkins announcement on Monday)

The main name to compare JDT to, is Mowbray.

I’d still be surprised if Dyche hasn’t been interviewed.

But the chances of Venky’s paying his level of wage makes it nigh on impossible…

I’d be amazed absolutely no chance he’s interested in the job

Rubbish. Scraping the barrel would have meant choosing the usual suspects mentioned on here, ie Grayson, Adkins, et Al.
At least they’ve shown a bit more imagination it appears this time with whoever gets the job.
You think JDT or Deila would come for peanuts?
FFS just try and get behind the club for once

You don't have a clue who is in the frame. Since Mowbray left we have already had 6 guaranteed appointments on here.

It is far more likely to be the "usual suspects". And when the owners weigh up all the costs and risks it is more than likely going to be Damien Johnson being promoted for an extra tenner a week.

FFS wake up and realise what has happened to our club.

Think you mean Thomas Frank but that's a good point. Frank arguably had less stock to his managerial name at that point than JDT does now.

Interestingly, from Wikipedia:

"Frank resigned on 9 March 2016 after receiving criticism from chairman Jan Bech Andersen, under a pseudonym, on an online supporters' forum."

Difference is, Brentford actually know what they're doing.

You know it’s possible to know history AND still have cautious optimism? It might do you a favour to take a step back until they’ve actually hired someone.

Brian Kidd won the champions league and league titles as a player.

Think it might be the 7th time I’ve seen Kidd’s name so far on this thread. How that is still relevant to modern football now is beyond me personally but plenty bring him up so I’m clearly on my own there.

If you say so. By the way “guaranteed appointments “ by who? Right the itk’s on here . Sorry, should have taken more notice of them

Don’t count your chickens (sorry).

Tomasson hasn’t been appointed yet. Rich Sharpe is only reporting that we have finished the interview process, which suggests there is still a long way to go with our dysfunctional setup. Negotiating terms could still be a stumbling block for any appointment, and I’m positive Honeyman and Horner will have a last throw of the dice.

Coming up with songs for a new manager has already blown up in some faces. There were people making Farke their profile picture. At least Simon Grayson is out of the running now, but let’s not be getting too giddy until anything is official.

I’m now just hoping for someone better than I feared. Underwhelmed is better than apoplectic.

Yep, could easily still end up with Woodgate here

I feel like it's gonna be a Henning Berg-esque appointment. Why can't we just go for a proven manager like Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest did rather than faffing about with left field choices. Those two clubs have shown what good managers who know what it takes to win matches in this league can do for a club.

Forest had Hughton first, that failed badly. Many forest fans had doubts about Cooper but that worked spectacularly.

Boro had Pulis; that failed & Wilder hasn't worked yet either.

I like the ambition & imagination of a Broughton / JDT combo. It seems to indicate some joined up thinking at last.

It might not work (it might not even happen!) but if it does happen I'll be right behind it.

Would be nice to think that wouldn’t it , that after all these years owning a football club Venkys eventually do something right , positive forward thinking

Speaking of which, we should keep an eye out for any new members or pseudonyms now Venkys are rubber stamping the appointment. I wonder if one of them could well be scouring the forums as well as Wikipedias of the names they were passed.

I very much doubt Venkys spend enough time thinking about us to scour the forums.

It would be nice to think that, but there is no real logical basis to think it. The process alone shows we are still a mess.

The ship has sailed, the best candidates have said

"No thanks, we're not working for this lot and adopting the chicken farm 5 steps to success" and sadly, gone elsewhere JBiz.

We are now trying to make a silk purse sow's ear, as we have done for 11yrs, its pathetic.
