A proper club would’ve announced it over a week ago, we aren’t one, but If ‘the club’ (whatever that means) even pretended to have a semblance of being normal, and behaving like a professional outfit, we would see a statement today…. So we won’t.

One thing we do know is Venkys won’t have a plan, the best we can hope for is that Waggott does, which again puts this once great club in an awful situation.

The marketing strategy - release season tickets, release the manager but don’t tell him he’s leaving and release half the team back to parent clubs with no plan to replace them.

You can only imagine season tickets are flying out the door, but seriously it just goes to show this income and loyal fans support, doesn’t matter to these owners and it never will.

The more Mowbray speaks the more I think he will still be here next year. 

The lazy thing to do is offer him a new 2 year deal...which is probably what they'll do. 

Either that or theyll forget completely and leave waggot as manager/ceo.

The arrogance of the man is utterly breathtaking.

By February we  needed to produce relegation form.in the second half of the season to somehow avoid the play offs and he duly obliged. That proves beyond a shadow of a doubt it was the correct move NOT to dive in with both feet at Christmas and offer him a new deal. 

Yet he's got the bloody nerve to moan about. it.

The owners will probably be naive, gullible and stupid enough to give him a new contract on improved terms now anyway after he's played them like a fiddle in the press over the last ten days with his "woe is me" routine but that's a separate issue.

12 years, Rev, and they can still be ‘played like a fiddle’ by journeymen football managers?

So in January he thought the club was fine, no issues behind the scenes.

"It’s a club I feel is growing, is going in the right direction, lots of good young players."

 

Yet now he's leaving it's a small budget, lost key backroom staff and doesn't have enough experienced players. 

 

It's one or t'other Tony.

Just looked it up 2013/14,  8th with 70 points from 46 games. Only 2 points behind Brighton in 6th.

They've been on a somewhat different "journey" to us since then. They've found their way onto the motorway whilst we're stumbling down a dead end country lane like a man in a blindfold.

Still, "slow builds" are best, eh?

Not as low as if Cocu gets the gig, if that happens I’m not going again, as that appointment is agent driven and designed to line agents pockets only.

He's is just altering the narrative to suit himself just as hes done as manager over the last few years.

Taking the juicy money home and doing what he wants then fine they can handle behind the scenes. Which is basically a vacuum between club and ownership.  Everyone happy to sit in that void, not rock the boat just scratch their heads and get on with it.

Now the invitation to continue in it isn't forth coming rats desert and others get sour.

I'm not sure why you're on one with me just recently.

I've never pretended their record as owners has been good. I merely note that they have made and continue to make a massive financial contribution to the Club.

To which Im sure you would say - "It's the least they can do it's entirely self inflicted" to which I'd agree BUT in an ideal world the best way forward would still be to combine their financial clout with a top class  manager and competent personnel running the Club behind the scenes.

If they continue to refuse to do that (I.e. by re-hiring Mowbray and retaining Waggott) then it doesn't matter how much money they plough in, it will continue to go to waste.

I don't know anything about Cocu's background but you might be right. Not sure there's any real evidence he's in line for the job here bit that might only be down to the fact he's not with the right agency.

If the owners are due to speak with Mowbray this week - as he himself implied - then I wouldn't expect an announcement until afterwards.

What the announcement will be, is anyone's guess. I fear the worst.

Cocu did well in Holland and did ok at Derby in their first season but awful in the second. I feel alot of that was down to Mel Morris. He does promote academy players into the first team. I think he will be interviewed by Rovers.

I’ve made peace that they aren’t going anywhere so we need their cash, that’s just how it is in the Championship.

However, it’s your posts making them out as innocent bystanders being led a merry dance by various Dastardly’s and Muttley’s on the ground that gets my goat. It’s been 12 years and if they can’t/won’t  get a grip of the operation by now, that’s on them, not TM or Venus or Waggott.

Agreed, all that's happening now is people's anger towards the owners is reigniting. I don't think the club will be shifting many season tickets whilst this is all carrying on.
