Indeed. What a cesspit football has become.

We are a long way from say a chairman who was a big man at a local factory, players who caught the bus with fans and did part-time jobs close season and youngsters whose parents got a nice fridge if they signed on.

The game is no longer a game, i'm currently weighing up if I will renew my season ticket this time around. I've lost all the enjoyment of going rovers, and if anything its just a chance to catch up with family and friends.

To be fair you've got plenty of time to catch up when the game is on.

Don't bother pre or post match, or at half time though as the tannoy is turned up to 11.

Glen, I was an avid viewer of your posts at the time. I was appalled at Venkys appointment as owners, and remain to this day a massive critic of their existence in our lives as the Rovers family. Do you have any insight as to how they would be removed/leave?

Having spoken to Jagdish, the plan was always he would run the club, i wouldnt be surprised if he is involved in some capacity next season.

I always hoped it was a pride thing and they'd sell up if we went up,

However the indication is they wont be going anywhere

I assume speaking to this bloke was a while ago? Or do you still speak to him now?

Great article and thanks for all you have done Glen.

As I have stated many times before, relegation from the Premier League was deliberate as is our mid table position within this league. The turmoil and state of limbo that we have been in over the last 12 years has all been by design to benefit those that lurk in the background.

There is no hope in trying to reason with the people in charge. Our only real option is to pressure the government and the football governing bodies to change the rules around club ownership. Fans should have a minimum 51% controlling stake in their clubs. This is by no means a perfect solution but it's a damn sight better than the current order of things.

The Trust is currently fervently attempting to do both of these things.
