roverandout Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 On this day, 27 years ago, rovers won the premiership. What are ur memories of that day? My biggest memory was the celebrations at Ewood with my family. Can't remember if it was on that day or a couple of days later but everyone in the ground singing we are the champions. Remember watching the Liverpool game at my next door neighbours house 4 Quote

Proudtobeblue&white Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I was there! Designated driver. Emotions all over the place, bought Champers to drink when I got home. One of the best days........ 2 Quote
Nuttall is lost Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Remember it very well. Like it was yesterday. Flicking between Sky Sports and Sky Sports 2. The Redknapp goal was totally insignificant. I dont know why the commentators and whoever else made a big deal of it. With 5 mins or evem more to go it was clear it was all down to Utd getting a winner at Upton Park. Although Shearer should have buried that half volley to put us 2-1 up. What a waste of money! Quote
booth Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I went through every emotion, and when Liverpool scored how awful was that? Then when the news started filtering through about Utd I couldn't believe it. The homecoming was amazing. I was in the Blackburn End. 2 Quote
SuperBrfc Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Those famous words from Martin Tyler at full time... "Let me say it once again...Blackburn Rovers are the champions!" I can still remember the celebrations in Blackburn town centre that evening. People running around overjoyed, flags being waved, chanting, car horns blaring. I remember being at the presentation ceremony at Ewood a few days later. Unreal to be a part of and what days they were. 1 Quote

I would have been 10, and I was gutted my parents went but couldn't get another ticket so I had to stay home. Watched with my auntie, uncle and grandma, who all thoroughly failed to understand at first that we had won the league even though we lost the match. Once I made them understand we all celebrated wildly lol 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) I was there, remembering queuing up at at about 5 in the morning for a ticket, my mate was about ten people behind us… they’d sold out before he got to the counter (and he had more ‘stubs’ than me 😁). We went with Darwen Blues on Des and Phil’s 007 bus, think we stopped in a pub Ormskirk way. No smartphones, obviously, so you kept hearing folk shouting stuff like ‘Cole’s missed a penalty’ (there was no penalty) , torture! Still remember the coach getting back to Ewood and fans were all over the streets welcoming us back like a conquering army… my dad them disappeared until the Ewood party night the day after 😅 Epic times, what a journey, and what an honour to be a part of it. Hasta Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) We were at someone’s house watching the game (as they had Sky) although he had actually gone to Anfield. He was recording the game and said make sure he got the full coverage. He still whinges because on his recording for the last 6 minutes of the game I kept flicking over to Sky Sports 2 and watching the West Ham game. (Note for younger members - On Sky , a VCR could only record the channel you were actually watching) Edited May 15, 2022 by Hasta 1 Quote
