tomphil Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 Never seen so many hairy arsed football fans questioning their leanings 🤣 Lets hope he's half as good as he looks. 5 Quote

Mattyblue Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 (edited) Indeed rovers11 , all I ask is that BRFC behaves like a normal football club. It’s why I thought Lambert was such a promising appointment, as the club seemed to be operating like a professional outfit. It didn’t work out, but that’s fine, the way it goes, but you couldn’t question the rationale behind it. Alas, it was a false dawn, and we can only hope there is something more substantial this time to what, on the surface, are promising appointments, as the club cannot afford to keep getting it wrong. It really feels as though they have a clear strategy that everyone at the club can buy into, and they are absolutely confident in it. Delivering on it might be another matter, but I've not felt this happy about Rovers for well over a decade. Restrain me! It's the first time in 12 years that we've had a manager speak with genuine positivity about the club, in my opinion. The first time in 12 years we've had somebody with a plan and somebody who means business. I can't help but feel a bit excited by it. There's a different vibe about all of this, different than anything that has come before. I shouldn't go overboard, as this needs the owners to back him properly and not do a Lambert. Having said that, a ball is still to be kicked but I think we're going to be the modern day version of 'the entertainers'. It's JDT's fault for talking about high intensity football and needing to entertain the fans 😁. 2 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 I am looking forward to a season of reading or seeing our head coaches pre and post match comments instead of trying and usually failing to avoid them and being triggered. I have watched JDT on RoversTV and, just for the record, its not luv but I do like him. I really hope that JDT and GB do well in their roles and have a better feeling about Rovers than I have for years. Quote

He focused on him twice there when the players were going past him. At the end it sounded like he said to Markanday "you're a really good player, you're fit to go now". Think he's going to be a key player for us next season. 8 Quote

Armchair supporter supremo Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 Sorry just another bum note! But would it really have killed the venkys to put out a personal statement welcoming the new manager to the club Quote

I hope JDT gives them real cause to be proud of 'their' club 😉 Quote
Popular Post RoversClitheroe Posted June 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 16, 2022 What a change in character going from Mowbray to JDT. Have to say body language, philosophies, ideas, how he sees football. Miles and miles ahead of whatever the fuck Mowbray was doing. Doesn't believe in formations Doesn't believe in "kids" football is about the "men" Constantly miserable about Rovers 10 Quote

Their biggest statement will be how well they back Broughton and Tomasson. I'm not expecting millions, but speedy operations and reasonable budgets will do just fine. I totally agree, actions speak louder than words in football. It's only that it's such a small gesture though, it's just odd for the owners of any club not to at the very least personally put out a short statement welcoming them and wishing them the best Edited June 16, 2022 by Armchair supporter supremo Quote

How many of the best stay at relegated clubs. Not sure if you are familiar with the Diamonds story but it wasn't just a relegation, it was the collapse of a club. The best players were released on free transfers just to get them off the wage bill so not many could criticise how those that moved on did so to protect their livelihood and careers. 1 Quote

Guest Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 Genuinely over the moon so far. Fans are on board already which is huge. Gregg speaks well and you need that corporate bod to run a project like this. Get a sense from the videos that holiday camp is over for these boys! Quote
Popular Post Theaxe15 Posted June 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 16, 2022 Pleased with how it’s all looking so far. Must say though, looking at some of the younger players slumped in their chairs while he’s talking and looking like they couldn’t give one speaks volumes about why some don’t make it… 19 Quote

Popular Post Ghost7 Posted June 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 16, 2022 Purchased my first set of season tickets in 12 years today, not because I all of a sudden think we're going to start winning games but because this is the first leadership appointment made in that time I can get behind. With Broughton and Tomasson the club are finally making the right noises off the field. Looking forward to supporting inside Ewood again and I hope others feel the same. 💙🤍 23 Quote

Didn't see a whole lotta love from Dack either. But whatever. Enjoying the buzz of expectancy. The bloke speaks well. And I enjoyed a good YouTube video of him talking to Graham Hunter (I'm sure someone has already posted it). Good luck to him. I'm not sure I buy the talk of rejecting clubs playing in Europe. But what the hell. Let's enjoy this as long as can. Edited June 16, 2022 by patrickvalery Updated 3 Quote
