Where's Vinjay when you need him?

Where's that kid that lived down near Brockhall and used to watch training from his bedroom window then post the line-up on a Friday afternoon on here when you need him?

Some quotes from Tomasson after the TSV Hartberg match:

Quote

“I’m happy with the numbers, but all those young boys (who came with us) shouldn’t be around the first-team, they are for the future,” he added.

“I want the same as the supporters, I want players in and we all know that.

“Last season saw good foundations, probably our best season in a decade for Rovers, and I think we should build on that.

It sounds like he is not happy with the transfer window so far. Imagine if he'd been through some of our previous ones?! I'm not too sure what he is expecting, however, when it was laid out early on in the window  by Broughton that we had to sell to spend. Perhaps he was expecting a sale or two already in order to bring in strikers, and it hasn't happened. Perhaps this is why we're doing a "fire sale" on Phillips just to get some sort of funds in that can be spent, but Tomasson perhaps would have preferred to get shut of certain other players rather than a future prospect for £3m.

It's hard to tell. The next couple of days might reveal all.

Ash is currently a league 1 level player.  He only got into the first team last year because 1) we had a massive injury crisis at center back (even played Pickering there) and 2) we needed to show faith in him so he’d agree the 3year deal. I don’t think JDT will be here in 3 years unless we get promoted.  He talks a lot about the process and project, but in reality he is ambitious and wants the same from the club. Ash was always going to be gone when he’d be ready to contribute. Getting him to sign last year is a £3 million windfall.  I have to imagine JDT would prefer the funds now vs potential of a player that would probably leave in 2 years anyway.

If he has gone so have our hopes for the near future and maybe beyond. Don't see how we can come back from this easily. Will take years.

Good to see someone standing up to the joke that is Venkys rather than collect a pay cheque for years knowing the job is impossible.

He sounds very frustrated with matters.

We all are. I’ve recently got my grandson interested in Rovers. I need to maintain his interest, take him to games etc. His dad is already a fan but can’t make it to games apart from the odd match. If it wasn’t for my grandson I’d be walking away and I first walked onto Ewood in 1961.

I don’t need this level of fuckedupness  in my life . Being a pensioner is tough enough.

At least JDT gets paid to put up with the shit show of a circus, we have to pay for the privilege.

Hell fire if we don't get a bit of good news next week it's gonna be a real struggle dragging myself to Ewood for the first game.

I made a deliberate plan to just let the transfer window and pre season unfold, reduce posting on here, which I did, and try to adopt a more positive outlook encourage by the 3 early signings.

The realisation that we have once again recruited crocks with known pre existing, and this time 2 of them, and the confusion of the past week or so and what that signals saps my will, stamina for the fight and interest. It's one excuse after another from Owners and Board.

I feel for JDT and GB but they are paid to put up with it, we are not and those of a certain age know we are unlikely to witness better times. I'm not on about the PL, just a club I can be proud of instead of ashamed and embarrassed by.

The last part rings so true.

Nobody is expecting us to win the champions league or any of that shit, we just want to see the place run properly.

It's nigh on impossible to feel pride in the club under these shit kickers.

I yearn for those years of my younger days when I didn't  know who our shareholders were, who was on the Board although usually I would know the Chairman as a name.

I knew who our manager was and our players, that was enough and was fine with most of those years in the 70s and 80s being outside of Div 1. My support never wavered as there was always hope.

The charlatans have killed hope and that is at the door of those in Pune, the trash at our Board level just a symptom of the real problem.

I called out the owners the day they bought us. I was not wrong.

The quotes from JDT last night are extremely ominous. I'd be very surprised if he's still at the club by the time we kick-off against WBA. If that happens then we'll no doubt end up with someone like Damien Johnson taking the team on.

I was very sceptical of JDT at times last season, especially after some poor derby results, and the Rotherham away loss was particularly appalling...BUT you cant really argue with the fact that he guided us to our best finish since relegation from the Premier League and I do think he'll go on to have a very good managerial career.
