As we saw this morning, with the snapshots form the BBC website, some fans still see Venky's as badly advised and insist that they are good owners.

I am applaud JDT for putting the message out there, that this is simply not the case.

I think it’s far more likely these fans would link having to sell players with the decrease in our crowds - I’d be amazed if anything ever leads to them blaming the owners.

Just makes you wonder what the point of it all is. I’ve given years of my life, thousands of pounds, lots of time travelling to 30 grounds overall, to watch us become a club that prioritises polishing up players for other teams to eventually buy.

It’s the idea our playing style is based on what other clubs want rather than what’s best for us that annoys (I could use much stronger words) me the most.

I hope I’m just misinterpreting what he said but I fear I’m not.

As you say, it isn’t JDTs fault but he’s running the risk of becoming complicit in the plans of those above him.

I guess he doesn't really have any choice, (other than to leave).

Anyone who has any shred of optimism about our prospects either just doesn't get it or is deluded.

Not for the first time, we have a Head Coach openly stating what our agenda is, and it isn't about the success of the team.

This does become more annoying the more things like this are said.

Yes, Swag was clear there is no pressure, no expectation, no aspiration. It is JDT who demands better and deserves far more support than the cretins running our club have provided. What is the point of having a professional football club with no ambition 🤷‍♂️

Hes now realised he's here just as a development coach nothing more nothing less and the club is run day to day by a few just drawing a wage, nothing more nothing less.

The future was bright here 12 months ago but now we are just set for a rerun of the GB and Mowbray years, except unlike the very fortunate Mowbray this coach will have players sold from under him regularly and no reinvestment.

We are finally set to be what many of us suspected was the aim years ago, modern bigger version of Dario Gradis Crewe but with double the gates and quadruple the losses.

The question is has he decided he’s happy with this or will he be off as soon as any half decent alternative is offered to him.

Make no mistake about it, he will be off at the very first sniff of interest elsewhere and who can blame him.

The club simply do not have the same ambition as he does and his comments in the press, are tantamount to him saying, come on fire me if you want.

I think people are being a little harsh on JDT here. He sees this club as a project and to succeed he must increase the value of his players. He sees the playing style as a way of doing that. If he can increase a players value he can sell him and use the money to add to the squad. And then gradually increase the squads value. And hopefully at some point we doesn't have to rely on free transfers and loans. I imagine that this is his thinking.

Winning games should take priority over everything else.

Winning games will automatically lead to other clubs looking at our players.

He'll be happy with it until there is an interesting offer i'd wager and that won't be long in coming.

His initial anger at the project change seems to have abated into acceptance that hes been duped but the best damage limitation is to keep doing what he's doing, whilst pointing out and hinting constantly he himself has ambitions beyond this place.

Don’t think anybody is being ‘harsh’ on JDT.

It’s the owners and the down-sizers they employ that have led us to this sad state of affairs.

I doubt that its his thinking, more a case of being stuck with it.

No point under these owners expecting to be able to improve the squad when we sell players.

I read it as JDT taking a dig at Waggott's no-expectations comment from the summer, and the ownership's lack of ambition.

If the ambition of the club is to simply exist, there is no reason for it to exist.

One thing is for sure. JDT doesn't give cryptic messages. He is clear in his interviews. Got to respect that. 

He also talks up the fans a lot and gives us recognition which is worth respecting. I think he has good intentions but was sold a lie. He probably has a contract that is t financially viable for him to leave so is just sticking it out and being honest in the meantime.

He probably walked into this club seeing from the outside a big old traditional club a few good decisions away from promotion to the PL. It seems things were already teed up before his arrival in terms of budgets allocated to Broughton to sign a few.

Although in the end we missed out by a hairs breadth he was probably enthusiastic about making a few changes this summer and going one better.

But now he will know without any doubt that the plan here is not, was not and will never be to get promoted asap. The plan here is to limp along from one year to the next with whatever funds our infallible owners decide they are going to send our way whilst the middle men get paid hefty salaries to keep things ticking over on the road to nowhere.

They don't even try to hide it. Waggott quite brazen and unapologetic about his agenda and that he's quite content to see us survive each season. Not one decision made at this club by the owners or their CEO in the last 5 years suggests promotion is the aim, ambition or expectation.

So I think JDT and Broughton have learned this lesson the hard way, coming in expecting to arrive at a club with ambition to go up and grow/improve then learning that this is a nonsense and that there is no plan except to keep people in well paid jobs and collecting their bonuses whilst not rocking the boat with India.

That is incompatible with footballing ambition which JDT has, so I think he long ago reasoned that his career prospects are better served sticking at it and waiting for someone to come in for him than walking away and becoming unemployed.

i think jdt is generally enjoying life here and british football,he`ll see the season out,tick britain off his list then move on to germany or holland,there is no way he`ll see his contract out,expect a mutual termination when we are safe from the drop,he`s given up on getting us promoted(who can blame him),the owners don`t want promotion,thats patently clear

as for broughton,he`s just a bull*****r who got lucky,in a well run club he would`nt last a week,the guy is as much use an artex canoe
