If JDT and Rovers were offered Messi, would we decline because he didn't fit our style of play?

Views @chaddyrovers?

Messi would be perfect for the false 9 role like Dolan has played but lets be realistic it ain't happening and to be honest very pointless question.

You signed players that fit your style of play. simple as.

And what is the style of play?

So our supposed playing style and approach to player development/trading is geared towards ultimately selling players to the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion?

That's been well thought through then...

To be honest, if you look at Brighton's transfer business in recent years (numerous players bought in for £10M-£20M and then sold on for massive profits within 2/3 years such as MacAlister, Caicaido, Burn, Cucurella, Bissouma), A plan for Rovers to sell players to Brighton could be a real money spinner (as long as we include a sell on fee)

Which is fine if we can develop players to that standard.

I doubt that they'd be interested in the likes of Telalovic et al though....

Jason Steele is their keeper, so anything is possible 😉

"It is a position we are extremely stretched in now," he said. "This window is extremely important for the club to get it right.

"I think we should have signed two (defenders) in the summer. Before these things happened, I think the club should have brought players in.

"Now with James and Travis going away, then there is space to use, money to use."

Tomasson is particularly disappointed to be losing Hill, who had become a regular in the side after breaking into the team in October.

Whether that full-back or in the middle, Hill was an important contributor to the squad. It leaves a big hole for the club to fill.

"We are losing James Hill, we lost Daniel Ayala and we lost Ashley Phillips," Tomasson said.

"Two went out of the building, one came in. Now he is also gone."

Wow. Gotta say he is the most honest coach

Keep on shining a light on the shit show, Jon. We're right behind you.

Any neutrals reading that will be wondering what the heck is going on. Good! We need people to start asking questions.

Can only lead to one thing

I'm hoping it leads to us getting a couple of experienced bodies in the building...

Although I know what you mean!

I can see him getting sacked by our honourable owners. They’ve done it before.

You have to be a subservient pleb to work at Rovers.

Local journalists are the only ones who might be asking questions. No one else is interested though the MSM might take notice if we get relegated

Tomasson is a favourite on here because of his plain speaking Nordic ways and “attractive” playing style but he’s much less popular at Ewood and will be largely responsible as all managers are if we go down

They used to 'do it before'.

Coyle aside they haven't sacked anyone since 2015 and they won't be sacking yon mon either, he'll walk in the summer or just wander off when his contract runs out and they don't bother renewing it a la TM.

Very baffling how he is less popular than Mowbray. A couple of people near where I sit in BBE wish he was still in charge

If we are down?

Even in the midst of Mogga death spirals all you'd here around you at Ewood would be 'ah well'. Whereas even in good runs of form sitting high up the table it would only take one too many passes for the JDT grumbles to start.

The jumpers for goalposts, 'great working class people here' routine works a treat for TM wherever he goes the crafty owd sod.

I think JDT has learnt the 'Rovers way' and understand the fanbase and local area

I read his quote on the day he joined us and it mentioned making us "A sustainable Premiership Club".

I'm just not seeing it? 🙄

Well obviously he didn't mean sustainable. And the Premiership thing was a bit of hyperbole. But we are mostly describable as "A Club" for the time being of course

Is Dolan not selected for his energy and work rate? Two things you hardly associate with a 36 year old Leo Messi.

He has nothing to lose imo.

He can/should keep telling it like it is. If they do sack him, they will take all the blame and he will receive a pay off...

I feel very sorry for JDT.

Unfortunately, his stock falls with each defeat.

He’s been badly let down by the club.
