No one else is interested though the MSM might take notice if we get relegated Tomasson is a favourite on here because of his plain speaking Nordic ways and “attractive” playing style but he’s much less popular at Ewood and will be largely responsible as all managers are if we go down It might take us falling into the bottom three before the MSM pay attention, I feel. Relegation almost certainly would. The more JDT highlights what he is having to deal with, the better, in my view. As the belief on the outside appears to be that "Venky's are doing ok now" and that they "pump money into the club" therefore they aren't that bad. It's still an absolute shit show as most of us know, it's just that there isn't visible discontent in the stands or issues highlighted by the press for outsiders to pick up on. JDT is, hopefully, painting a picture with these honest interviews. Of the local journos, I think Andy Bayes is our best hope of putting some pressure on. He has started to be more direct with his questions to JDT and Swag. He is a Rovers fan at the end of the day and I'm guessing there's only so much he can put up with too, even as a professional. There's another interviewer that I've been impressed with lately. I think he's called Adam Cottier. Direct and not afraid to ask questions. We need him and Bayes to stick it on Waggott and Broughton, in a journalistic sense, of course. There are many questions for that pair, in my view. 1 Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 JDT seemingly more worried than a few on here. 2 Quote

He's right to be concerned about the remainder of the season and so should the fans. I struggle to see where 5 wins at least are coming from based on recent performances and a threadbare squad with only Szmodics as a regular goalscorer. Quote
tomphil Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 So rumoured to be in line for the Sweden job and that would be a great move for him. Hopefully it's just smack talk designed to put the wind up Rovers and get them to act but Waggot will have his abacus out totting up compen and ho much he'll save by wheeling in someone else off the dole. 5 Quote
Rogerb Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Back in November there was no mention of JDT for the Swedish job. Potter was the main name. If he is approached he will be off. 1 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 jdt being very optimistic about the club getting anything right, apart from the playing and coaching staff the whole place is run by incompetents, idiots, bull******s and freeloaders,if jdt does leave the building, the biggest clown of the whole organisation broughton, will hopefully go as well Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 In a fairly short spell GB has brought in some good players, and has got players signed up on contracts - something Swag couldn’t manage in the old set up to our dear cost. Now tell me something, anything Swag has achieved in six long years here? 3 Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 (edited) So you’ve just pointed out the signings that haven’t worked out (wonder if a pitiful budget, cut halfway through a window) has anything to do with it ?) Not the good signings and contract renewals that have been a real positive. Obviously incomparable to Steve Waggott who has done nothing but regress the club from day one. Just silly that you are even having this argument (though I don’t actually think you believe it, you are just having a few Friday night japes as no Rovers fan can seriously argue that Swag is doing a better job then anyone from the tea lady up at BRFC) Edited January 12, 2024 by Mattyblue 2 Quote

I don't see JDT leaving Rovers for Sweden international football job. It just wasn't his style of coaching and I see JDT has someone who loves day to day coaching and working with players on a daily basis 2 minutes ago, simongarnerisgod said: he still managed to procure it,on the broughton issue, what dof fails to arrange the loan of the excellent lewis o`brien ,brings us clinton mola and the obvious panic buy,a striker from the non league, telalovic(not semirs fault,he was`nt going to turn the move down) a very bad one thats who,he could have brought in someone on the free transfer market if he had the nous,i don`t think greg could spot smoke coming out of a chimney in all honesty The Lewis O'Brien incident had nothing to do with him, it was admin problem. Not his remit but took the fall for it. We didn't panic buy Telalovic either so your point here is just wrong. Your constant criticism of GB is baffling every time you mention it Quote
Mattyblue Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 He’s having a laugh Chaddy. He does it in the transfer window threads, some daft ‘rumour’ and gets a load of 🎣 every time. Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 That JDT interview couldn’t of been any clearer to the fans and the people above him Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 If he does go I will miss his honesty and transparency more than anything else. It’s been refreshing for 18 months . 4 Quote

He even apologies when it's shite although in a way that swerves his own accountability but it's at least halfway there, Yes there are frustrations to the way he works and still a lot of imo naivety though some would say stubbornness. We can actually see what he is trying to do even if we sometimes feel it isn't always the right way to go about it in certain games. We've not been able to say that for a long time he isn't a preserve my job pick my mates and mates players kind of guy, he clearly doesn't want his feet under the table here being patted on the head. He wants to actually do something but he couldn't have picked a worse set of ambitionless gravy train riding bosses to do it for. Edited January 12, 2024 by tomphil 5 Quote
Mattyblue Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 They won’t be making the mistake of appointing a JDT-esque character again, far too finger pointy at those that like to keep a low profile. A yes man next time without a doubt. 4 Quote

I’m not saying he’s flawless, few are in this league but the pros far outweigh the cons and when you’ve seen first hand what you can win in the raffle and who picks the prizes then this guy is top prize . I really love the guy. I will be devastated when he finally goes but completely understand why he would and will then it will be back to the usual agency for a guy who needs a pay check and can pay out a percentage to his agent giving the fans lip service and loading the books with whichever of his agents clients are struggling for a game. I bet there is no blocking pathways chat then Edited January 12, 2024 by Oldgregg86 2 Quote

I think it’s more likely it would be a young head coach, who would be happy to tow the line. Quote
tomphil Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 It'll be a cheap one plucked from the lower leagues at best, probably Karl Robinson unless he's on big wonga at Salford. Quote
