I don't see JDT leaving Rovers for Sweden international football job. It just wasn't his style of coaching and I see JDT has someone who loves day to day coaching and working with players on a daily basis

The Lewis O'Brien incident had nothing to do with him, it was admin problem. Not his remit but took the fall for it. 

We didn't panic buy Telalovic either so your point here is just wrong.

Think I’d be just as worried if we didn’t panic buy Telalovic, so it was a carefully planned swoop on a 24 year old from the German fourth division - what does that say about the scouting set up?

Probably is for the best considering I’m not a professional football scout, analyst or recruiter.

You seem to be posting this silly stuff a lot. ‘Well who would you sign with 200k from Germany then?’ We aren’t professionals, that’s what those at the club are paid for - and we judge who they bring in with those things called eyes.

Feel sure @Mattyblue and others on here have better things to do than research potential recruits for Rovers.

It is not our feckin job.

I am pretty sure we would make a better fist of it than our anonymous bunch of faceless wonders.  For example, take our head of UK scouting Sutton, who the feck is he and what has he ever done in football?  I think there are folk on this MB with more experience and nous to spot a talent than either Sutton or others in our recruitment team.

If so then where is it ?

Several foreign market signings in summer surely have GBs fingerprints on them, then we have Ennis from a promoted lge 1 team.  Other than that Prem loans which probably come via agents.

Hardly a ringing endorsement for the new set up they could't even find a keeper suited to English football !

To be honest with the absence of Swedish players coming through (Walstedt and Ayari excepted of course 🤔) the Swedish national team is a bigger opportunity to destroy a reputation than Rovers and even less upside.

So I think it is only 50/50 JDT would take it.

Irrespective of the football, virtually every interview JDT gives, his humanity and intelligence leaves me with a happy smile in stark contrast to his predecessor who was perfectly OK . JDT is totally different class and not only for his Champions League Medals and Danish top leading scorer..

Agree with much of this but really feel JDT is aboard a sinking ship at the moment and it's difficult to see how his reputation doesn't suffer unless he jumps off!  Prospective employers look at the results' board which is at rock bottom at the moment and has been for some little time.

Tomasson must be considering his future given the poor results and the continuing ability of the club to bring in adequate reinforcements last summer to strengthen the squad and this window to cover for the various long term injuries

My guess is he'll give it to the end of January to see what happens with new signings (or lack of) and then pack it in as a bad job. No manager wants a relegation on their CV and on current form that's where we are heading

It's a possible but I don't think we'll go down this season but if things don't change and our best assets are sold then next season will be difficult at best.

Think we’ll be ok in the end this season, but you’d imagine he’ll be giving it up as a bad job in the summer as the owners are back for a third time asking some court half way round the world permission to pay the club’s VAT bill.

would we given that we don't work in football scouting or recruitment. It isn't so simple as you make it. I have listened to many podcasts with Football sporting director or head of recruitment plus watched the Salford football documentary and I listened to a podcast this week called Stick to football with Neville, Carragher, Wright, Keane and Scott who was discussing football transfers and who is responsible for transfers and who has veto on signings. Carragher revealed that Klopp was keen on signing Salah when Liverpool did but Klopp trusted his recruitment team and look at how that worked out.

The problem is I see both of these players/signings who need developing and understanding the British game and how we want play when we signed them. That's the market we are in. We can't afford proven quality players as we can't afford the transfer fees involved or the wages. So you need to find players who have raw qualities but need developing into good players
