A lot of what I'm reading don't appear to be discussions about current issues at the club in regards to what we've all been speaking about in recent days.

How have we managed to balls up 3 transfers in the past 2 January deadline days?

Why after selling Adam Wharton did we not reinvest any money into the playing squad as I've no doubt we had targets identified?

Are there any plans to address these failures with changes to the senior leadership team?

What happens if the high court ruling to allow the transfer of funds in March is denied?

 

 

None of the issues we've all been talking about include nor needed any of the players.

On Saturday we fielded the most experienced team we have had for ages. Only Moran and Chrisene could be classed as youngsters. What a fucking feeble excuse for professional footballers to use for playing poorly. Give me fucking strength.

From the people I’ve spoken to in the last hour, this is going to massively backfire when this gets out. There’s been little to no discontent at Ewood despite the shocking form, and yet the players are brought out by Waggot to cry about it infront of fans. Wow. They can fuck off as well.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all at modern day Blackburn Rovers you get this charade today. Words fail me to be honest. Nobody comes out of that meeting with any credit. There should have been a real “ clear the air “ meeting weeks ago when things started to go tits up. Management and players. No holds barred, every player expected to get what their problems are off their chest. Nobody gets to keep sctum. Act like men and speak your mind.

A dark day in the history of this club.

Just when you think you have seen it all you see this 'fan meeting'. Why on earth is the CEO holding a meeting involving players with no manager present. The whole thing looks like nothing more Waggott looking to get certain prominent online supporters on side just days after audible chants from inside Ewood for him to go.

In my opinion those fans who attended have shown a massive disrespect to Jon Dahl and allowed themselves to be Steve Waggott's pawns in his attempt to cling on to his job.

Basically what Glen has tweeted was how the meeting went. It was an informal chat with the players then Waggott. There’s no minutes. 

The general discussion was the players mentioning the atmosphere at home games and specifically the end of the QPR match and during another match (they couldn’t remember which) where they were boo’d off at half time. They said the senior players spent half time keeping the younger players in the rate state of mind and that’s not the best use of time.

I made it abundantly clear to all the players that any booing is directly at one of Venkys, Pasha and Waggott or JDT. Szmodics especially said “we’re open to criticism, we were shit against Huddersfield and we know it”. 

I also explained to the players that unfortunately this club has had ‘ownership issues’ for 14 years now and whilst the last five years have been relatively stable, until the issues with ownership and senior management are addressed it’s only ever a stubbed toe away from discontent amongst the fan base. 

The players also asked how we could get more fans in the stadium at Ewood. I explained to them the issues with ticket pricing and season ticket pricing — which I described as “abhorrent” — and the horrific deprivation in the local area meaning that fans would love to go but frankly have to pick between eating and heating, meaning there’s little spare money and not enough to be spending on tickets. 

There was further discussions which everyone in the room agreed to not disclose at this point. I gave my word - as did everyone else - so I’ll honour that.

As above, so our current situation is about chronic financial and owner mismanagement, appalling and embarrassing approach to transfers and basic club administration, no clear overall strategy, terrible ticket pricing, etc. Yet somehow that has been turned into it all being about the poor players being upset by the fans, who are at fault in all this. This is dreadful spin and these players, frankly, look like they have played their part in it, today. Especially having a whinge whilst their coach is left out of the meeting.  Fuck them. This club is a corrupt cesspit. An empty (chicken egg) shell. I think I'm finished with it. I want to be, now. But I fear I'll be hanging on a bit in the vain hope somebody will save the club, somehow.

Well the players have been informed our boos, chanting and discontent isn't about them so I hope winning ,drawing or losing we will be hearing plenty aimed at the owners and Waggott 

Even now we are still acting disgracefully...holding meetings without the head coach present ,it's obvious he is going so wtf is the hold up just pay the man off or waive your right to compensation if he takes another job in the next 16 months

Different players had different prioritised concerns. Some of them sounded more impacted by the atmosphere on the whole than others.

And a manager who had visibly checked out a while ago and it appears he had done so before the season even started. I said months ago that it was clear he didnt give a shite and was simply protecting his reputation by calling out the shit above.

Were the fans going to have a go at the likes of Hyam for getting rag-dolled by a centre forward every week or players lacking bottle as soon as we go behind. Or were the players giving some insight as to why we are losing so often, conceding so many goals from set pieces?I

I agree with this. But I do want to add my thanks to J*B for attending and reporting back. 

What has been reported (and circulated), though, has only made me feel more angry and, despondent. I'm not sure the meeting really gained anything more than this kind of impact, did it?

It’d be highly unprofessional but I really wouldn’t be surprised if swag was chewing the fat over the next manager like some drunk fan in the pub whilst the current manager is still in a job. It’ll be some desperado like Rooney. I’ve had a horrible feeling of moggadon coming back.
