I don’t give a shiny shite about ‘passing games’, ‘playing the right way’ and all that - results, results, results is all that matters to me and he got plenty to have us consistently around the top 6 until December 2023.

I will judge JE exactly the same way as we await said win as we go into game eight of his reign. The wins start today with a 1-0 off Gally’s shin after 90 minutes of hoofing it? Sounds good to me.

10 games 0 wins for JE

Both Mowbray and Tomasson both blew big chances to get in the playoffs. The collapse in form in the latter half of those 2 seasons were similar but it felt worse under Tomasson because we had been in the top 6 right to the very end only to fail at the last hurdle. The game at Preston will wrankle for a very long time.

There's a rose tinted view of Tomasson because of his fluent passing game but forgotten also were many dreadful performances when the team did not compete and gave away some of the silliest, softest goals I've ever seen through unnecessary mistakes at the back.

I liked Tomasson but he outstayed his welcome and was allowed to continue in post far too long. In the end he had lost interest and was actually damaging the club.

The Preston game does wrankle but blame Hedges and then Scott Wharton and Hyam for that one.

As designed by those in control the 'anti JDT' stuff has gone down a treat on the Venkygraph, Facebook and twitter. Legions of fans now using this as 'evidence' that the problem here was JDT, that he had lost the dressing room, that the players weren't happy under him and that things should be fine now we've got Eustace in charge.

It really is that simple to pull the wool over the eyes of so many so quickly.

All I know as a supporter who has seen an awful lot of crap in the last 12 years is that JDT delivered more in less time than anyone else, that we went nearer to cracking the play-offs than under anyone else, that we went nearer to Wembley than under anyone else and this was despite being given zero backing during January and working with extreme limitations.

Obviously as a humble supporter and not a 'pro' I'm not privy to what goes on in private but whatever did go on clearly didn't do us much harm last season or the first half of this season as we sat in or close to the top 6 despite slashing and burning the squad, deliberately.

I don't personally care what individuals thought about the manager. What matters is results. Give me last season under JDT above any other season we've had under relentless mediocrity and failure under these wretched people.

Anyhow, happy camp back on. Content to plod along in the bottom half of the Championship for the next 4-5 years if we are lucky, Keeping pondlife like Waggott in well paid employment as he continues to gut the club, cutting costs and quality until its retirement day and there's nothing left but 6000 fans rattling around Ewood reminiscing about the 80s.

At least the senior pros will enjoy themselves and not get upset at a winner demanding more of them. Maybe one day St Tony will come home and tell them more about what wonderful human beings they all are.

Nailed it there.

It felt far worse under Mowbray as we'd seen him fail season after season. With JDT it felt like the club was going in the right direction, then badly let down in January. It felt like with better backing there was finally a chance.

Sadly a legion of c***s came along and ruined it.

It’s not like it was the first time is it ? I felt the same when we employed Lambert and Irvine and Co.

They didn't just come along, they've been here for 14 years.

Another heavy loss for JDTs Sweden today against Serbia. 3-0

Only 1 win(against Albania!) in 4, including losing to Denmark midweek

I watched Swedens games v Denmark and Serbia. Tbf, they were a tad unlucky in Copenhagen but they were absolutely crap against Serbia who themselves were shit.

JDT will obviously continue with his style of football but apart from Isak and Kulusevski the rest  of the squad is bang average and they don't seem suited to what JDT is trying to achieve.

I said somewhere on here he'll either be an unexpected success or a massive flop and gone in no time in this job.

Money was always on the latter, for a bright fwd thinking intelligent guy he is way too stubborn for his own good but it'll be a nice pay off when it comes.

The way football works these days as with Kompany he'll one day just undeservedly be given a top job with a squad already full of real quality players with 10s of millions to spend and he'll be labelled a genius when they start winning...

There is no doubt that JDT is forward thinking and intelligent also. A very personable fella and I was sorry the way things ended up for him at Rovers.

However, I think you are right regarding him being  stubborn and afraid to have a plan B.

During pre match interviews with Sweden, he's saying the same things as he did at Rovers and I reckon the laid back Swedes are seeing through it somewhat.

You have to remember that when he managed a successful Malmo side, they had the best available players in Sweden and for the most part have for the last 10 years.

Very different from the championship where a lot that leagues players would walk into most Swedish top flight clubs teams. Easily imho. And living here in Sweden and having been to see live Allvenskan league football...... Its for the most part shite.

So for me JDT, as much as I like the bloke, needs a plan B and C. Otherwise he's not going to cut it in management in a worthwhile league.

Just imagine for a second we get rid of these owners or they get rid of the brace of clowns running it and the finance problem is solved.

Back comes JDT in a year or two's time with some actual year on year investment and a project to finish !

Got a feeling the JDT and Rovers chapter isn't over yet. He's clearly still around the area, was said to have visited Brockhall a couple of times since his departure and his son is now part of our Academy.

I wonder, just wonder, if he has heard something about a possible sale of the club. We've had that Rovers Insider account suggest that they are thinking about selling up, with one of the family still hesitant, wanting to do the 'honourable thing'. Message for that Venky family member. Get lost, you will never, ever, get this club promoted to the Premier League. The only honourable thing you can do, is piss off. You've turned a solid Premier League outfit into this embarrassing mess and you expect me and thousands of others to be grateful? What for? Who the eff do you think you are? We have standards and will never lower them. Sell the club and piss off.

There is talk that a consortium including Dennis Bergkamp, Ronald Koeman and others is looking at buying a Championship club. I don't know if Rovers are on the radar but if these tossers are forced into a sale, which looks a possibility, you never know what could happen. JDT plays their type of football, but of course, I don't want to start getting too carried away.  How good would it feel to have proper football people at Rovers again though? Bergkamp is a winner. There are plenty of winners in football, but the likes of Waggott are an absolute joke. Every one of those in the upper levels of the club at this moment in time, IMO, are sitting way above their station and are out of their depths. Nothing lasts forever though and I think the end isn't far away for this shit regime.

All good things come to he who waits as they say.

As a kid i never thought i'd see 20k home fans on Ewood never mind play in and then win the top division one day.

Hope is the only thing left now.

Anywhere above the bottom of a septic tank is above their level.

You try to be rational and think that this can’t go on indefinitely. But it’s already been FOURTEEN years, which is far longer than any other remotely sane owner would have stuck it out.

These just aren’t normal people, they are like nailing jelly to the wall and I honestly can’t even imagine a day where BRFC is once again thriving under engaged, driven owners.

Not wanting to cut off the hopium supply, but the Bergkamp consortium is looking at League 1/2 clubs aren't they, with the narrative being around pushing into the championship. Or has there been a recent update?

Well we'll be in league one at the end of the season so who knows.

It's a nice fantasy, but as Matty said I agree I just can't see a day when these lot aren't owners.
