Always remember the MOTD pundits saying what a great job kean did in keeping us up on the final day of the 10-11 season, completely ignoring that we were 7th when in January. 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 Leeds were in a huge mess when Marsch took over and he kept them up. That was his job when appointed there. Just imagine now if he kept Southampton up and Leeds got relegate now. Leeds are struggling to find a head coach to take over and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they appoint their caretaker head coach Michael Skubala until end of the season. Quote
Backroom DE. Posted February 14, 2023 Backroom Posted February 14, 2023 Seems like the most likely outcome is that they'd both go down tbh. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted February 15, 2023 Author Posted February 15, 2023 (edited) Marsch has turned Southampton down over the length of the contract they offered. Looks like Leeds and Southampton will appoint their current caretaker head coaches until end of the season. Edited February 15, 2023 by chaddyrovers Quote
Displaced Rover Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Random aside but why is Adam Wharton sat in the away end at the Emirates (according to Instagram) rather than watching his team mates?! Has the relationship with JDT soured so badly? Quote

chaddyrovers Posted February 15, 2023 Author Posted February 15, 2023 very good piece on Leeds united search for their next appointment Leeds United’s chaotic search for Jesse Marsch's successor shows a muddled club under pressure (msn.com) Quote
Mattyblue Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 I imagine tickets for that away end were like gold dust, how has a ‘big Rovers fan’ ended up with one? 1 Quote

Probably played with someone at city with England or paid over the odds for a ticket The question is why was he there when his team was playing with his brother and team mates in the starting line up Edited February 16, 2023 by Oldgregg86 1 Quote

Mattyblue Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) Possibly, or through his agent or he’s a pal with one of their players (who all get handed a load of complementaries) A lot of an away allocation for big games ends up in the hands of hangers on as freebies. Bugger the loyal away support! Edited February 17, 2023 by Mattyblue Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 I don’t know why you would ever want to watch city v arsenal or any game when your team is playing , never mind when you play for that team 1 Quote
Ossydave Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 And if you do, keep it under wraps not 'brag' about it on Instagram. Doubt anyone on the crowd knew him from Adam, no pun intended. Still he's a young lad I suppose and will make some foolish decisions. Might give an indication as to why him and JDT don't always see eye to eye.... Quote

Mattyblue Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 (edited) I’m sure United fans will be up in arms against Qatar, ‘human rights’, ‘petro-clubs’, ‘sportwashing’ etc, just like they were for the City and Newcastle owners… Edited February 18, 2023 by Mattyblue 1 Quote

I can’t cope with another ten years of venky rovers, Burnley in the prem and united dominating English football. I think it would tip me over the edge 😩 Edited February 18, 2023 by Oldgregg86 2 Quote

If all this moaning about refs continues and young refs at grass roots level continue to get abused, and pack it in as a consequence, then it won’t matter who owns ManU, City or Newcastle. There won’t be any football. 1 Quote
benhben Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 The body of ex Chelsea and Newcastle player Chritstian Atsu has been found under a collapsed building in Turkey. Weren't we close to getting him on loan 2 or 3 seasons back? Poor bloke Quote
Guest Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I've just read that Nathan Jones cost Southampton £8.4m for 94 days' work. £4m compensation paid to Luton Town, and £4.4m in wages to Jones, set to be paid in full. These managers must be in dreamland when they get sacked so early. Quote
Blue blood Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 You must be dire when Southampton beat you! All that money spent and Chelsea don't remotely look like a team. Quote
rock steady Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 To make things worse, Azpilicueta got a traumatic brain injury from one of the worst getting volleyed in the head incidents I can remember seeing. Quote
