Backroom DE. Posted May 14, 2023 Backroom Posted May 14, 2023 Boro will be happy to take a 0-0 back home for the second leg. Sunderland Vs Boro final... poor old Tone's heart broken no matter what the result is. 1 Quote

superniko Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 (edited) Talk of Rovers or Millwall ‘bottling it’ - Sheffield Wednesday were something like 6 clear with a game in hand at the top of the table with about 9 games to go. Missed automatics and then lost 4-0 to Peterborough in the 1st leg. For Rovers, a league with Plymouth and Peterborough should be a good thing (apart from the long away days). If the relegated Prem clubs are basket cases (here’s hoping), then we should have a proper run at the Top 6. Edited May 14, 2023 by superniko Quote
roversfan99 Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 None of the 3 likely remaining play off clubs should be a threat to any play off aspirations. So Bolton away please. Peterborough was a horrid day last time. Quote

As basket case as they are there is only one Venkys. Quote
LDRover Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 What a handful this Luton front 2 are, they're bullying all of the Sunderland back line. 2 Quote

LDRover Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Looks like the Luton manager has identified a lack of physicality in this Sunderland side, they are dominant all over the pitch....and that left sided defender looks a player..... 1 Quote

ben_the_beast Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Absolute bullies. I hope they go up. I don't want us to have to play them again next year. Think Sunderland have done a poor job at stopping the delivery. They need to stick like glue to the Luton wing backs. As soon as they get a cross in there's literally nothing Sunderland can do. Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Lockeyers goal almost identical to the goal he scored past us. Just hope they can hold out Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Embarrassing performance from Sunderland this - they've been bullied off the pitch (not that they turned up). 2 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted May 16, 2023 Backroom Posted May 16, 2023 A Luton player just had an effort worse than Hedges, I didn’t know that was possible 5 Quote

Inferi Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Impressive by Luton. Just dominated Sunderland and made them look weak. 1 Quote
1874 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Yet it was still better than chipping the ball into the keepers hands 1 Quote
JHRover Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Sunderland's entire second half 'onslaught' limited to 2-3 shots off target from outside of the area. A familiar story. Watching the footage there are some very strange / unpleasant people involved at Luton. But there's no doubt they've earned a shot at Wembley after last season and this. 2 Quote
Penwortham Blue Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 I must admit to being very happy that Mowbray / Venus aren’t going to make it, it would have been too much to bare 😊 3 Quote
Dolly blue Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Luton…..ruthless, brave , combative all the way across the park, uncompromising, utterly focussed, hell bent on a positive outcome..what ever it took . Rovers…..if only we had some of this .. 5 Quote
Hasta Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 (edited) I've never known before that when Luton won the league cup in the late 88, they were managed by Ray Harford. They reached the final under him the following year too. Edited May 16, 2023 by Hasta Quote
