Dr Rich Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 The inaugural B.R.S.A 5 a-side football competition was held on Saturday the 14th of March before the Arsenal game, in the B.R.I.C. Competing were teams from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, North Lancs, South Lancs branches of the supporters association and a veteran's team. After much laboured breathing, incredible miskicks and no small amount of moments of magic, the team from the Republic of Ireland emerged victorious. In what was a nail-biting conclusion, a deserved triumph was finally assured in the last game of the competition by a moment of North-South co-operation with the Northern Irish team saving their only goal of the tournament for a last minute equaliser against the North Lancs team to stop their opponents winning the tournament.
