Popular Post joeitfc Posted August 1, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 1, 2022 As an Ipswich Town fan I just wanted to thank Rovers. I've just watched the news and found out that 3 of the ladies team that won the Euro's yesterday were girls at your club. My little niece is part of the Ipswich Town girls development programme and loves playing; she's far from the best in her age group but still loves it. It seems your club were well ahead of the curve. Ipswich have been really pushing this, but only for the last few years, I truly hope you get promoted this year, whilst doing the double over Norwich along the way - Uppa towen & rovers. Joe 44 Quote

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Thank you for your comments Joe. Blackburn Rovers have a very long, Ancient and Proud connection with the National team. 1 Quote

bazza Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Thanks for your comments, Joe. I know an Ipswich Town supporter, Keith who lives in Walton-on-the-Naze. He's not been a happy bunny for a few seasons now. Hope you get promotion this season. It's about time. Quote

No doubt though that Waggott & Co will look at it, shrug their shoulders and say “Well, they don’t even play for us anymore”. And we move on. 1 Quote

Or worse still it might attract more people to watch rovers and then they will be panicking. More fans not on our watch 5 Quote

Erm, Rovers Ladies have been at the forefront of the women's game for the best part of 20 years. That's why those three were here before United or City had anything to match. Would you have even known that they were, if you hadn't been spoon fed the tweet quoted above? Which like it or not is exactly Rovers taking the "great opportunity to promote Ladies football at the club on the back of that momentous victory" 🤷♂️ 1 Quote

Also, both of ITV and BBC North West had done live broadcasts from Rovers within 48 hours of the match. Below a tweet from national BBC Breakfast, Monday morning. Do you really think all of that just happens automatically whilst staff at Ewood "shrug their shoulders"? 1 Quote
yellowsubmarine Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Interesting read. The Blackburn talent factory: How humble beginnings at Rovers' remote training centre in the hills of east Lancashire shaped future England stars Georgia Stanway, Keira Walsh and Ella Toone. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11044333/How-Blackburns-academy-shaped-future-England-stars-Georgia-Stanway-Keira-Walsh-Ella-Toone.html Quote
Claytons Left Boot Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 It mentions the girls training up at Blacksnape. Obviously a typo but, anyone who has played in the Darwen League, will realise that Blacksnape is actually 859 ft above sea level, and not 80 ft. (Just checked on the OS map). The only other pitches in Lancashire, of a similar height must be those at Trawden. Quote

Also, I don’t need “spoon feeding” by you or anyone else on matters regarding our club. I comment on issues I fully understand and have an interest in, not to be deliberately vindictive or controversial. 4 hours ago, Ben Frost said: Also, both of ITV and BBC North West had done live broadcasts from Rovers within 48 hours of the match. windymiller7 Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 One thing I did notice about the OP - he titled the thread "Thank You Rovers", not "Thank You Blackburn". Good lad! 👍 We are the one & only Rovers. You're welcome at Ewood anytime mate! 2 Quote
