Drifting off to sleep last night and suddenly the name Micky Speight crossed my mind.. No idea why!

Anyway, he was with the Rovers, as I recollect, in the early 1980s and typified the resolute and no-nonsense defenders that players like Keeley and Fazackerley had established as the hallmark of a Rovers side.

Previously a stalwart at Sheff Utd, Speight's career somewhat tailed off after his time at Rovers, and ending up in some backwater in Norway.

Get him back in and lock him in a room with Dom Hyam for a few hours, to sort out the ridiculous rabbit in the headlights nonsense that he's been peddling instead of defending properly...

different breed innit,keeley and faz lived for defending,on that last plymouth goal,either of those two in their prime would have clattered whittaker and won the header first,they would certainly not have been waiting for the ball

on the issue of hyam,i think he`s got a questionable attitude,is very soft and is`nt what you need in a difficult away game,ide` drop pears as well,he was half at fault for plymouths late goal as well,caught in no mans land as usual

if eustace fails the adress the issue,it will happen again and again

Absolutely right, very tough no nonsense midfielder. I seem to recall he had a bullet of a shot. A 2nd division Jimmy Case!

He may have played one game for Rovers but a record held by former Rovers reserve forward, Gary Hamilton, is that he once scored 6 goals in a game for Glentoran in 2004 - which, I read, is a modern record in NI topflight.

What a pathetic sentence for all those offences, just 15 months inside.

He should have got at least 5 years pokey plus a 5 year driving ban when he's out.
