rovers11 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 This game almost certainly won't go ahead, and probably not the one next week either. Although I'll miss the football, I don't think it's a bad thing for us. We should have a fully fit squad by the time we next play and it gives JDT a chance to coach the players on how he wants to play football (whatever that is!) after a very poor run of performances. A mini break in the season will help us imo. Obviously get the frustration of fans who have already paid out money for transport though. 1 Quote

Guest Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Shame about this, having to watch our annual Wigan pasting on a Saturday was bad enough. Midweek in November in the pissing rain is gonna be a new low 🤣 Quote
BlackburnEnd75 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Looks like there's a good chance now that it will be on Upto the individual bodies to choose, rugby league and I think Union going ahead too on Saturday. Cricket likely to resume on Saturday too. 1 Quote

oldjamfan1 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Very sensible statement from the Government on this. I can't believe I have actually just typed that. 2 Quote
MarkBRFC Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 All Prem and EFL games postponed tomorrow. Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Now that it's been confirmed that all games are off this weekend I'll try to look at the positives...we might have more key players back from injury by the time Rovers play another game. 1 Quote

More time to get injured players back and more time working on JDT's style. Can't be a bad thing. Quote

nathan_rovers1 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Absolute shambles, not that I knew her personally but I get the feeling that she would want the country to go on doing what we love and commemerating in some truly special ways. Look at West Ham last night. 3 Quote
neophox Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 So next game is Watford at Ewood on tuesday! Big game! Quote
Backroom Tom Posted September 9, 2022 Backroom Posted September 9, 2022 An expected move, one that will have no long term bearing on any of us. Hope Joe Bloggs is doing ok 1 Quote
tomphil Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Predictable, yes understandable in a way but it does nothing but add to peoples sadness really. That's not what the Queen was all about. 1 Quote
Popular Post arbitro Posted September 9, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 9, 2022 I'm incredulous at this decision which achieves absolutely nothing. It will cost people money who have booked transport, hotels and other things. People who work in the stadiums will not be paid when many would have been relying on the money to help pay bills and the like. It's simple to me. Anybody who wasn't comfortable going to watch a match don't go but to postpone every single game in disproportionate to the feelings of, I would hazard a guess, the majority of fans. It's this Nanny State we live in that treats us like kids and makes decisions for us. 14 Quote

I get that it's a massive deal and people will be genuinely mourning but why do we have to force it upon everyone? Will I be in mourning whether I like it or not? We'll only cancel recreational activities though - work can go ahead as planned. Edited September 9, 2022 by RoverDom 6 Quote
sabino Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Sycophantic fools. This will no doubt now be a midweek game and my 2 grandsons will not be able to go. 1 Quote
Cherry Blue Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Would have been good for both set of fans to show respect as we do during the game. Sadly we're not allowed. 5 Quote

roverandout Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 My point about Joe bloggs or Josephine bloggs is her life was no more important than that of an average Joe (bloggs). I feel bad when anyone dies but life goes on. 2 Quote

Totally agree Wether royalist or not during this cost of a living crisis people and businesses are going to lose even more money . What about when its the queens funeral will games again be cancelled ? Games should go ahead with a minutes silence Anyone uncomfortable with that could just stay at home 5 Quote

I'm one percent on board with things being cancelled on the day of the funeral as a mark or respect but this i feel is just counter productive. 2 Quote
