I see the Rovers stream is available to all UK and Overseas supporters this evening. That is a change from the norm, where matches are only available to watch live for overseas. Why the change, I wonder?

I got the previous two Rovers games on ESPN+; sadly, not today. I get Preston/Burnley

Point of order: a 7-0 defeat is a "result", albeit not a good one.

Indeed, but if we reacted the same way we did last time we lost 7-0, I'd take it! As long as we skipped the second half of the season collapse this time...

I think it's the case whenever there is a midweek match on Sky's red button or something like that. It was in place last season too. Seems a very random rule but whatever.

It's because it's on Sky red button, which some of other midweek games this season so far haven't.

from hazy memories of radio lancashire,we were hanging on for dear life in extra time

Yes spot on.

I was on the away end that night, we cleared one off the line in extra time and managed to hang on, I can't decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing considering the final outcome......

Was it two two the away game in our promotion season? I went to that one. From memory it was after we'd had six straight defeats, wegerle put us two one up and then we got pegged back.

I was absolutely gutted and convinced at that point that we wouldn't go up

Szmodics can’t even make the squad. Happy to be proved wrong but I would have started both Dack and A Wharton.

Not sure he's fit. He's been out of the team since he got knocked out.

1989 - Playoff semi-final 2nd leg away Watford - Apprehensive doesn't do it justice, terrified does.

Why, they were no better than us ?

I'm pleased with the line up. We need to get back to basics and become hard to beat and hard to score against. The team picked tonight suggests JDT agrees with that sentiment.

I would still have preferred three in midfield, rather than three up-front.

It’s increasingly clear that if Dacky doesn’t play the JDT way then he doesn’t play.

I would suggest that Dack is now the mainstay of JDT's plan B.

S Wharton and Ayala return to play alongside Hyam as we switch to a back 3. Sensible decision. That's the formation we should play moving forward.

Were going to struggle for goals with these players though.

Obviously playing on the counter. The 3 centre halves should offer more cover for the weaker positions (imo) at left and right WB.

It could work, see how we get on first half.

As a side note he doesn't seem to rate Markanday does he?
