Upside Down Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 (edited) Well we got bummed again in the last match. That can only mean one thing. A huge win to follow! I'll be optimistic and say Rovers will win 6-1. Edited September 24, 2022 by Upside Down Quote

Guest Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Thought we were playing Cardiff away next up...? Quote
arbitro Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Our form against this type of robust and defensive teams has been awful so unless Tomasson comes up with an alternative plan my expectation is low. I remember reading how Millwall were ultra defensive and negative at Burnley recently and although they lost they held out for an hour. I expect us to have a lot more of the ball but in non threatening areas but they will have a four or five man midfield smothering play if we advance. Quote

Well we won 3 in a row, then lost 3 in a row. Since then we have won (Blackpool), lost (Bristol), won (Watford) and lost (Luton). So maybe he is right! 1 Quote

roverstdt Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Would like to see a different line up of: ------------------Kaminski-------------- Carter---Hyam---Ayala--Wharton--Pickering -----------Travis----Morton---Buckley Hedges--------------Diaz. Got carried away 😛 Edited September 20, 2022 by roverstdt 3 Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 I wonder if JDT will ever play Buckley as the false nine like tony did. He clearly doesn’t fancy dack. Smodicz is abit of a mystery and he doesn’t fancy Buckley as a CM. He must see his quality in training and he had decent spells there under tony and can press as well, if not better than anyone in the squad . Quote

I am a little over his comment about I don’t buy the players. He doesn’t get involved in the grubby dealings but surely to God he advises who and what he wants. He needs to take accountability for how players perform and how he fits them into his “project.” 3 Quote

Out for the last two after a poor performance (but to be fair they were all poor). I'm not sure if we can take it that Dack won't be seen in the future. I still maintain Dack needs a decent striker in front of him and that's the problem. 1 Quote

joey_big_nose Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 I'd start next one 352 initially, make sure we are winning the midfield battle Team for me Kaminski Carter. Hyam. S Wharton Brittain. Travis. Buckley. Pickering Dack Hedges. Brereton Subs : Pears, Ayala, Mola, Morton, A Wharton, Dolan, Hirst I do think one we sort our balance out we can go on a real run. 3 Quote
smiller14 Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Glad there's an international break. Can see us struggling in this game - Millwall are the sort of well organised, physical team who have overpowered us this season. Hope I'm wrong, but can see another Stoke/Bristol City. Quote

That is 12 players, unless by in the hole, you mean Dack on the bench. Quote

Dolly blue Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Not sure what I’d play at the back or up front…. but I do know that we cannot function with a two man midfield….irrespective of personnel..any combo of Travis , Buckley, Wharton, Morton ..as a pair …no chance . They have neither the guile, the experience, the muscle ,nor the legs…..shown perfectly in the back having to bypass the midfield at Luton JDT must address this current weakness….particularly against the Millwalls of the world .. 4 Quote
JohnD Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 We can't keep playing with 3 or 4 forwards when few, if any, of them offer any threat. 4 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 we can`t keep changing formation every week,we don`t have the players who can adapt to that, just stick to one 3/5/2 at home and away,in away games sit a bit deeper and hit them on the break, stop this stupid passing out from the back as well,it just leads to trouble, confusion and the opposition pressing you more and more 1 Quote
