Garrett off at half time please, he's way off the pace tonight.

Have to agree. If you look at it objectively and not in protective mode he has been pretty anonymous. Plenty of time to develop and tonight will have done him no harm but hasn't been in the game at all.

That's what I like about jdt. Hes not afraid to throw the youngsters in unlike the gurning chump

JDT has played at levels way above what TM managed - he knows that, even at the top level, if young lads are good enough, they swim when they're thrown in.

Adam Wharton being the perfect example.

We're looking pretty comfortable I think, whenever we play through their first press there are oceans of space in their midfield. We'll create more chances in the second half. Having said that, I think we'd all be fuming if we'd been robbed of that penalty. Looks stone cold to me. Only possible explanation would be that the ref thinks the Sunderland player kicked out first.

He’ll be defended because he’s an academy lad on his debut and has made no obvious mistakes, but you can’t have a player who doesn’t want the ball.

Decent first half. Think someone else has already mentioned it but the inverted wing backs seem to be nullifying their inverted forwards.

Also didn't think it was a pen.

Garrett has been nice and tidy. As has Sammy.

Brittain outstanding so far.

Big 2nd half performance required.

Yessss! Huge play by Hedges to win the free kick and then yet another Mowbray team who are utterly dreadful at defending set pieces.

Hedges is brilliant, unreal compared to what we saw last season from him

DEFENDERS ARE HERE!
We look a lot more solid with Wharton, Hyam, Ayala and Carter from what we’ve seen but we’re a threat from set pieces again - the first 3 in particular sticking their head on plenty up top (see Gallagher assist at the weekend too)
