I'm reserving judgement till he gets to play when we've got three centre mids on. He's been hung out to dry when we've played two centre mids like all the other strikers. 3 Quote

I’m not writing him off just yet but regardless of the team we’ve played upto now he has done the basics wrong. At Wigan in particular he was so bad. Playing balls to slow, giving the ball away, not holding it up , there are some attributes to work with but at his age he really should be a more complete player to be playing at this level and he needs to improve dramatically to earn a place even on the bench at the minute 1 Quote

End his loan period, and say thanks, but no thanks, to a permanant move. 3 Quote
M_B Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I'll clap him, then hope we pick up another 3 points. He was right man at the right time for Rovers, and left us in good shape. Could be the night for Szmodics to cement his place. 4 Quote

This was whilst both Mowbray and Harvey were working for Rovers. Pep Guardiola persuaded Mikel Arteta to take the Arsenal Job and leave Many City, do you think City fans are up in arms about that? Or do they understand these things happen in football and wished him all the best? We live in a society today where everyone wants to be offended by something, this is a prime example of that, I bet most fans had never even heard of Stuart Harvey before the story broke, I certainly hadn't. On Mowbray, he deserve the fans respect and he'll get it, the fans who attend understand the job he did, the players he produced and promotions are rare at Ewood. I wish him all the best, but not this week, Rovers 2 Sunderland 0 2 Quote
Mattyblue Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 (edited) Promotions out of the third division are rare because we ain’t spent much of our 150 years down there! (But yes, fair play to him for a quick exit from that god forsaken league, as other clubs have shown, it ain’t easy. But it’s nowt to crow about for Blackburn Rovers). He'll get cricket applause from me based on the job that he did. I suspect that'll be the same for most others inside Ewood, but we'll see. 1 Quote

Its was a general point on promotions, I've seen 5 I think in almost 50yrs - They're rare alright. Quote
tomphil Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Relegations are rare as well thankfully and he over saw one of them so he was putting that right and credit for that but can't have it both ways. 5 Quote

He definitely can though - he might've been holding the parcel when the music stopped, but our results after he took over were not far off playoff form. With probably the worst squad in many of our lifetimes. Yes we were still relegated, but there's a world of difference between the two scenarios and the amount of credit/blame he gets for them. 2 Quote

I wish him all the best, but not this week, Rovers 2 Sunderland 0 Nope, he is a gurning chump who specialised in gaslighting Rovers fans for at least the last two years of his time here, possibly longer. I sincerely hope his replacement is able to out think, out manouvre, out-play him and his new employer tomorrow evening. It's a low bar, from where I stand (sit) but hey ho, you'd hope Rovers have kicked on since the woe is Mowbray show left town. 3-1 to the Mighty Rovers! COYB! Quote

Yes, main game on tomorrow - Amazon are showing Prem games on Prime Video though. Rovers with a WLWLWL form with this one landing on a 'L', an ex-manager in town, main game live on Sky.......what could possibly go wrong!? Come on Rovers, prove me wrong. 4 Quote

Would certainly be bucking a lot of trends if we won. We rarely play well on Sky Thanks, Windy 1 Quote

It's on Sky Football and Main plus it's selected for international coverage so not on Rovers TV, unless they still accommodate "dark" countries. Quote
