I really did think Qatar would be better than that. It was not offside. Not when in happened, not when VAR decided it was and not when the photo shopped pic was shown. Why did you think Qatar would be better than that? How many professional football players does that country even have? 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 I thought Valencia's header was very good finish from him. Ecuador played well first half and they managed the second half to not allow Qatar any chance of getting back into the game. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 The 8 stadiums for the world cup look very impressive. I think the Al Janoub stadium, Khalifa International stadium and Education City stadium look fantastic and impressive stadiums 1 Quote

Guest Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 (edited) Did anybody else notice how the stadium was emptying rapidly after the 70 minute mark? Edit: just seen a Sky News article suggesting the same. I don't mean to be presumptuous, but unless it was prayer time, it says a lot about how much Qatar deserves to host a football tournament of this magnitude. None of them really give a toss about the game. Edited November 20, 2022 by goozburger Quote

Almost as if they where paid to be there for the duration? 3 Quote
roversfan99 Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Says in the Daily Mail that the side tomorrow will likely be Pickford, Trippier, Stones, Maguire, Shaw, Rice, Mount, Bellingham, Saka, Sterling and Kane. Southgates continued inability to fully utilise Foden is criminal. 6 Quote

At 2-0 down, I can only conclude they're all Rovers fans and decided to call it a night. This was the strangest World Cup game I've ever watched. In that sense, I suppose it was somewhat entertaining, with plenty of comedy gold. But I couldn't help but think how wrong it was. It stinks of bribery and corruption. It'll take a decade or two for things to come out of the woodwork, by which time FIFA will have kept a lower profile, and people will care less than they do now while it's fresh. jim mk2 Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Sterling's done nothing this season to warrant being first choice. England will be favourites to win according to the fans but it always pays to be contrarian. Stick a little bet on England 1 Iran 1 Quote

Mount is very talented player and in decent form. Sterling record for England is very good. His pace is what we need. roversfan99 Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Saka is deserving of his place, has been performing very well for a while and offers real pace. Performing at a level far above Sterling and Mount. Gary Lineker also has a very good record for England. 1 Quote
