roverandout Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 We desperately need another forward in January. If Diaz is off it, we have no threat. Vale is conference standard. Gallagher is hit and miss. Hirst is shit 2 Quote

On tonight's evidence he doesn't have any ability to do anything useful at all. Even closing down, purely an effort thing, he sort of sets of lumbering as if it is some hardship and gets there just in time to turn around and walk away as they pass it around him. He'll find his level in League 2 eventually. 1 Quote

Would rather him on the right and Pickering on the left though He’s looked dreadful to me. Not his fault, he’s clearly out of position, but looks uncomfortable defending from that side and is always naturally coming backwards when on the ball. 2 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 changes needed, get travis in the middle and brittain out on the right, the lad vale has to come off 3 Quote
cesus Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Very tough watch that, incredibly poor. Jack Vale is being schooled by their defenders. Unless somebody starts carrying the ball forwards we stand no chance of scoring. Quote
Backroom DE. Posted November 1, 2022 Backroom Posted November 1, 2022 If Hirst can't get ahead of Vale then we really have dropped a clanger with that signing - and he was supposedly our primary forward target this summer! 5 Quote
roversfan99 Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Weird team and dreadful performance. How did the Vale contract get suchba positive reaction, hes appalling and struggled in non league. Has nothing in his game including effort. Get Pickering on for Morton, put Travis in midfield, Dack for Szmodics and Dolan for Vale. Quote
neophox Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Put Dack on for Vale, Brittain at right back and Travis in the middle. Maybe even put Pickering on. 2 Quote

They will score more, no doubt. Dreadful plan, whatever it is. I just don’t understand why we have these games where it seems the plan is to dick around on the top of our box, play back from the attacking half and invite pressure. I’d like to see a stat that shows the number of passes to/from Kamenski in matches we’ve won vs lost. 2 Quote
des Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 There look to be half a yard quicker we haven't any defence midfield cover and running of the ballfor them isvery good for us not so good we need to keep the ball more let's hope second half is better 2 Quote
Andy Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Shocking first half - defence looks like it's never played together. Midfield absent and forward disjointed. However, there are still 45 minutes to put it right. Quote

I'd be happy for Vale to never wear the shirt again. They've all been awful tonight though including Tomasson who has got this massively wrong. 5 Quote

neophox Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 We can only get better after that half....promising. Quote
BigBar Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 How can you be second in the league, coming off the back of 4 wins, going to a club in crisis and we put in a showing like that? Its horrendous management to go with the team and tactics we have. Should have been flying out the trap, putting them under pressure, high energy and tempo. But no, playing players out of position, passing it around the back and slow sluggish tempo. Terrible. 5 Quote
Rover_in_the_South Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Time for JDT to change things around, not wait until the 60th. Now. 1 Quote
jim mk2 Posted November 1, 2022 Author Posted November 1, 2022 Rovers fans stunned into silence here. Tomasson’s a twerp the team looked all wrong from the start and it proved correct 2 Quote

bluebruce Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 The good news is we usually have one decent half in us. It can't have been that one. 1 Quote

chaddyrovers Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Not good performance so far from us. Poor in possession and Poor defending for the first goal. I would be making at least 1 sub at Half time with Pickering coming on. Move Brittain to right back. I would be tempted Even bring Dolan on aswell and going 4-2-3-1 in the second half. Time, we came back from this and get at least a point there. Quote
TimmyJimmy Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Coventry run in straight lines forward, every player. Zero sideways movement. Makes it easy to slip to attackers in the channels. Out of possession they sit off but between our midfield players, wait for the pass and then step forward to intercept. They've analysed us and it shows, they know what we're going to do before we do. Good side. We should be 3 down as already been said. We're not going to get anything from this game, we just need to protect our goal difference column. 2 Quote
jim mk2 Posted November 1, 2022 Author Posted November 1, 2022 Teams in trouble like Coventry you go at them from the start. The way we played in that half was inexcusable 3 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 (edited) There's grim and then there us. That was as inept a showing as I've seen. What TF is wrong with Scott W, abysmal. I've stayed up this late and will now probably get to watch Hirst. Life is so so unfair. Edited November 1, 2022 by AllRoverAsia 2 Quote
