According to sky sports we are interested in Ross Stewart from Sunderland, among a host of other clubs

Don't see Mowbray dealing with us but maybe offer Buckley? I want to keep dack if I'm being honest

An on form Dack is a must stay.

Think Gally does enough/is good enough to play a role as a striker for us. If I was in charge it would be an alternative/something different I would be buying. Feels like we only really have Dolan and Dack that offers something different.

Maybe some pace or target man might be the way to go.

I’d rather we signed a very good finisher. Someone who finishes more than they miss. Jordan Rhodes 2.0. The Sunderland one (Stewart) would be an ideal but I can’t see that for the life of me… so use the data and the scouting team to find the next best thing.

I would look to sign Todd Cantwell from Norwich and maybe move BBD up front?

for your good finisher what about Deniz Undav from Brighton?

Ins:

- LB as backup to pickering

- RB to play as Brittain is injured most of the time

- Midfielder that can drive forward with the ball and create space

- Pacey Striker

Outs:

- Rankin Costello, yes had a few games but not good enough at this level.

- Mola

- Hirst / Vale, both not top half Championship players.

- Markanday, send on loan if JDT doenst fancy him (which he clearly doesn't)

Probably add Edun to the outs list, we can't get rid of everyone but he isn't good enough either.

Joe Rothwell would absolutely flourish in our team right now

He ain't coming back nor do I want him to either. He wanted to out of Rovers all last season. He and his family wanted to moved back down South so he got what he wanted. Cantwell is the one I look for to sign

Bit of info that I have seen shared by a couple of posters on another forum that is worth sharing here. One of the posters was a former member here and somebody who I always viewed as being a good source of information.

As is usually the case, it appears to have come from 'sources' that each of them have, so feel free to take it as you wish. Anyway, the latest is:

1) Broughton has, apparently, interviewed three potential new signings in the UK during the week just gone. Two Scandinavians, one German. One of those three is an attacking midfielder.

2) A new midfielder was being shown around the club a few days ago and is set to sign. It's as good as done by the sounds of it. No idea who he is, which club he's from, his nationality etc.

3) Everton want BBD and will give us Ellis Simms in return. The rumour is they have bid £9m for BBD plus Simms but it has been turned down. I don't know if Simms is a permanent or a loan move in this equation.

Again, the info has come from two posters on another site, so I don't know any more than what has been mentioned above.

Everton have recalled Simms from his loan spell at Sunderland, so there might be something in the rumoured Rovers link.

If the above info is correct, I am glad we are looking at the central midfield area. Our powderpuff midfield has been brushed aside on too many occasions already this season. It's literally men against boys most weeks and definitely needs bolstering with a couple of solid additions, in my view.

There’s no chance Everton give us 9M plus Simms… even Simms on loan… even 9M! That smells of bullshit to me.

I guess we will see on point 2, if that’s true they should be signed, unveiled and training within 72 hours.

On point 1 I think signing Scandinavian players is likely, I believe their season is over (and players are out of contract)?

Rothwell pissed on his chips before he left. Common knowledge that he doesn’t believe that he has any developing to do…but also accepted in the training ground that he completely downed tools after his move broke down in Jan. Mowbray tried publicly to protect him but everyone knew….Prob the reason he hasn’t had a sniff yet this season either.

I just can’t see a point where anyone would want him back.

I will go for Erdal Rakip being this player. Ex Malmo player. JDT knows him

Interesting this. Wasn't Simms here before in the academy before he joined Everton academy?

I would take Rothwell back because put chinese whispers of his conduct or unswallowed pride aside, he would clearly improve our team.

That being said, there is no chance of that happening.

Silly season is upon us, knowing modern day Rovers I would be surprised if business was done soon. Hopefully Mola and Hirst can be back at their parents club with immediate effect for some room to manouevre. Ideally we can get a signing or 2 in this week to give them a run out in the Cup (doubtful) but at least for the Rotherham game plus one or two back from injury.
