Wheelton Blue Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Rovers may not be able to cancel, but they can force the issue by making it clear to Leicester that Hirst - quite rightly - won't be getting any more game time. 6 Quote

roversfan99 Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Why have we taken that clown without a break clause on our side? Same with Mola. Lets hope they are both recalled ASAP. Hirst just needs a run of games in the Leicester team and they have a younger Vardy. 2 Quote

Cork and Brownhill are ideal championship midfielders, battlers but with quality too. Very envious of their options. Stating the obvious but you need a tough battling midfielder in the championship. We seem to be going way too lightweight and technical, you need a Barton, Whitehead, Cattermole, Leadbitter type. Alan Browne and Whiteman at PNE are decent options. Fleck, Norwood at SU. Alex Mowatt. Howson and Hogg are too old now but that ilk. There is plenty about. Harrison Reed still stings. Your last comment is so true, if only ! 1 Quote

tomphil Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Probably quite straightforwards really if LCFC can organise another loan for Hirst they'll recall him and send him out again. Best for all parties imo If not then as you were, we wanted him in no uncertain terms according to Broughton so we'll have to lump it and so will the player. Quote

I suppose that if we were looking at him with a view to a permanant signing, then the people doing the loan deal, would not have considered us wanting to send him back early. We have to admit it has not worked out, and move on. If he has to stay so be it, but don't pick him. Quote

I doubt Hirst will make Leicesters U21s. Edited January 3, 2023 by rigger 3 Quote

BigBar Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Feel oddly bad for Hirst. I don't think it's down to him as a person I just don't think he is very good. Weather he got a leg up because of his Dad or whatever but the simple fact is he doesn't seem anywhere near championship standard. He hasn't had much of a run but in his cameos he's been poor. Surprised to read he is 24 next month. He will end up in league one I imagine. Best to part ways now anyway. 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Sunderland being linked with Surridge and Boro with Archer tonight. Meanwhile our current strike force reads Gallagher, Vale and Hirst. 3 Quote
AJW Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Hirst will go to somewhere like Luton and get a bag full of goals 🙄🙄 1 Quote
BankEnd Rover Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Not that I rate Hirst but he really wasn’t going to score many with how we’ve been playing. Think with the service he is at the top end of League 1 and possibly low end championship standard. 1 Quote

Based on the evidence presented by the lad himself though, I am guessing no-one is worrying about their knackers down Ewood / Brockhall way 😉 As things stand, the lad is actually in the way, rather than adding anything of interest or value to Rovers' prospects.
