Can’t say I would be too disappointed if we ended the Jdt experiment early, I’m not seeing what we are trying to achieve at the moment. We are a hard watch , don’t create enough, can’t come back into games, it’s not great.

JDT will be furious if we don’t bring in a CF…i couldn’t see him leaving as this season finishes but If the summer window is a repeat of this one then JDT for sure will walk shortly after.

JDT leaving within a year of being appointed, because of issues around recruitment is borderline “basket case club” territory. The outcome on the pitch might not be much worse short-term, but for a manager who has consistently toed the line on “budget” to become exasperated by transfer windows sends a reminder to anyone we’re trying to bring to the club that the owners make us a no-go.

I agree and as it happens because it's a recognised name in football it masks his unproven record. It done the trick in the same way Lampard or similar does/did when in reality the jury is out big time on their managerial abilities.

Not been online all day, as signal is well shit at work. Got 9 pages to trawl through, but it looks like there’s plenty of people moralising about calmness, patience and just slagging other posters off. 
There’s some concern that is pretty justified and some over the top, but such is life. It’s not helpful for message board harmony to slag the place off so much though, I can say that much. I’ll never understand why people who apparently hate the site continue to post and view it.

I’ll tell you what though, what bothers me the most is the self-defeating attitude of the club which is seeping into the fan base. Instead of finding reasons why we can get promoted, people just look for reasons we can’t, shrug their shoulders and say ‘oh well’. We’ve been in the play offs all season just like we were last season, so we should be aiming to finish there at a minimum. Anything else is a failure, project or not.

We’ve got 36 hours to get our shit together anyhow, Lord knows we need reinforcements!

hardly surprising if true ,he`s wasting his time and reputation here,while i don`t think he`s a very good coach he does deserve some backing transfer wise,i said last week they are doing a lambert on him,will he take greg the egg with him??

I wouldn't be devastated if he went. I was as excited as anyone knowing how good of a player he was. I thought attacking and exciting football. Neither of which we do. If anything the squad he has inherited has gotten  worse than last season. Seven months or so into 'the experiment' we should have an identity and style. Again neither of which we do. I don't think he's done anything to warrant backing from the owners. We could be top of the league though and they'd still be the same. The only thing that concerns me is if he went, who would we get? That would out up with this circus of a club?

I said it when JDT took over but I think he 'took a punt' on the Rovers job and things fell into place nicely for all concerned just as time had run out and pre-season was approaching.

They mucked up the recruitment process when Lambert walked, even though we all knew he was going in March, eventually plumping for the cheapest desperado going which relegated us to League One. With JDT it is quite obvious he came from nowhere after Broughton arrived after we'd spent weeks failing to close a deal for alternatives.

So those who point to external factors for a lack of transfer business - convincing yourselves that this is all completely normal, not Rovers' fault, down to the way the world is or those pesky FFP rules (whilst not affecting other clubs) just remember the glacial speed with which we dealt with a managerial appointment with candidates who were unemployed and ready to start immediately - is it any wonder we are incapable of getting players out of rival clubs?

JDTs name had done the rounds with a few others - QPR, Hibs - so he was obviously on the look out for a move having been out of management for 6 months after leaving Malmo.

The difference between JDT and the Keans, Bowyers and Mowbrays of this world is he doesn't need to be here. He isn't from the local area or based nearby, he has a reputation in foreign leagues, he can go elsewhere and for the time being has a pretty respectable win % behind him.

Looks to me like he and Broughton have been let down by the owners and their dogsbody once again. As have the players who for the second year in succession have got us onto a good platform to push on in the second half of the season and haven't been supported to try and get the job done in the second half of the season.

This is what happens when you have owners who won't have the first idea where we are in the league, what results we have had this season and won't even discuss Rovers before May. 

Some people peddled the myth last January that Mowbray was given funds and opted (for no reason) not to spend. Presumably the same people at the Club who try to convince people that Venkys are wonderful and all our problems are created by external factors out of their control. I think we can see that wasn't the case, that even if funds are available for transfer fees it is pointless with a wage structure that doesn't allow for decent players to come in and where were are comfortably swatted aside by rival clubs willing to spend. 

It's the same old bullsh1t every January. I don't blame Broughton or JDT - the one constant hides in the shadows.

He's got a contract here. We put a silly clause in Lamberts contract allowing him to leave at the end of the season. It would be highly, highly unlikely we'd have done similar with JDT. 

If he becomes unhappy, that's fair, but it wouldn't look good on him trying to force an exit. It doesn't reflect well when looking for other jobs. If he did want to leave he'd have to perform well and another club buy him out of his contract or perform miserably and get the sack, risking him getting a decent job elsewhere.
