Just speculation, but maybe that creates an opening for Greg to make a loan move for Watford flop Vakoun Bayo.  He had a good spell in Belgium before joining Watford.

Would Broughton know who and what you're talking about?

Same reason as last season - it's a false position.

Maybe after a dozen matches or so.

But not sure we can claim ‘false position’ when you’re over halfway through the season.

It's in the second half of the season where the strong show their mettle. This season is playing out exactly the same as last season. Good start but squad / manager not good enough to sustain it. And lack of transfer activity in January

Someone on social media is suggesting we've been to watch Paul Mullin twice. He's a 28 year-old forward from National League side Wrexham. Scored 46 goals in 65 appearances.

It might be nonsense, but if there is any truth in it, we really are getting desperate.

He was on TV yesterday. If you read the FA Cup thread some have claimed he's better than both Gally and Vale!

Great lower league striker, if we were in league 1 it would be worth a go. No way we should be considering it.

Big wages, plus we've just signed a winger - very unlikely.

Would be buzzing my baps off if we somehow managed to get him though.

£2.5million price tag for a permanent move apparently.

Like you say though, wages the issue. Once they get a taste of prem money they very rarely drop back down.

Watching him yesterday, he looks a good professional with leadership ability and natural footballing intelligence but he’s just not quick enough. Was surprised to learn he was only 28, he moves like he’s lost a yard of pace over the years. Possibly why he hasn’t broken through the ceiling as everything else about his game is a good quality.

Still, not for me.

It's astounding Burke has managed to remain in gainful employment at such a high level after being terrible since his early days at Forest. He was sensational there and looked like he could emulate Bale as a strong running full back/forward. When he was at Celtic to resurrect his career there were lots of reports of his attitude being appalling and generally a bit of a Charlie.

Like JPVH, it feels like spending £2.5m would be fairly low risk and would likely yield a profit down the line.
