Could he sue the EFL for restriction of trade, Bosman like

Technically his problem is that Forest haven't included him in the 25 man squad.

Forest knew on 1st Feb that the deal was doubtful, and yet they still chose to pursue Ayew and let him take the last place in their squad. He's partly not playing football because Forest didn't want him.

Again, there is no conspiracy with Waggott being in Birmingham. It's extremely commonplace, normal behaviour and not something to read into.

Although it wouldn't have been unusual in the slightest if he wasn't there given it was deadline night.

he chose being on a jolly to overseeing transfers on deadline day.

Again, there is no conspiracy. Everyone was where you'd expect them to be in any functioning football workplace environment.

I'm not sure anyone is saying there's a conspiracy, just that the CEO, on a season-defining day, should maybe have stayed in the office rather than enjoying hospitality at Birmingham City.

Why is that a duty though? - it’s a game of football, there’s no need for executives (of any clubs) to be meet at every single match - it certainly shouldn’t be chosen over other more important duties (let’s say ensuring transfers go through smoothly)

There is nothing to read into. Everyone was where they should've been. Someone forgot to send off a document. Next it'll be Charlie Mulgrew's fault for missing a free-kick in Dundee which caused X, and so on and so on.

Again, it's his job. The framing is all adjusted to suit the narrative.

We have a Director of Football, it's not Steve Waggott's role to make sure those things happen. Total re-framing to suit a narrative.

Start putting a few quid on Forest U21s then as they've suddendly got a lot stronger

Indeed it is, you ignored the part that countered your bizarre strawman that people were viewing this as a conspiracy.

And it isn't 'his job', his job is CEO of Blackburn Rovers, paid to oversee the business side of Rovers, including player contracts.

I can accept, but don’t agree with that assessment.

Do you consider this to be Broughton’s fault then?

Just one further point, how does he make sure the CEO or club secretary signs the relevant forms?

Give it a rest Joe, you got mates in the department that fucked up?

Not at all. You're just a tin foil hat type who doesn't like it when I state my opinion. Instead of arguing the points you just go to personal stuff.

But on Deadline Day, you'd think he'd have priorities straight.

I think someone (I don't have a clue who) has failed to submit a document. Whether that be someone at the club, this 3rd party law firm they've hinted at, or an agent or whatever. I don't know who's at fault and neither does anyone on the board. What I do know is that Steve Waggott being at Birmingham is perfectly normal and not what people are making out.

How very convenient. Almost as though the appointment of the Director of Football has already accomplished what it was set out to do - let someone else take the blame for another failed transfer window whilst the real culprits get off scot free.

Waggott is CEO. An important and very well paid job - for a reason. Not so he can 'represent' the Club at away games on the complementaries, but so he can oversee and ensure that the Club functions properly and succeeds. That means he is ultimately responsible for the entire operation. Even if it is true that responsibility for transfers lies with Broughton in the hierarchy Waggott sits above him, presumably appointed him and so should carry the can when things go wrong.

Was it Steve Waggott's fault that we lost £20 million worth of playing assets in the last few transfer windows or was that nothing to do with him either?
