Upside Down Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Let's face it, this is just a warm up game before we play the proper claret and blue scum in the biggest derby game in the world. Optimistically going for a 3-0 win for a second strength Rovers side to cruise to the next round. Quote

chaddyrovers Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Team for this game Pears Buckley Carter S.Wharton Edun A.Wharton Garrett Markanday Dack Dolan Vale Subs:- Hilton, Hyam, Mola, Travis, Hirst, Szmodics, Harlock Quote
J*B Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Pears Carter Phillips Mola JRC Buckley Garrett Batty Markanday Hirst Vale Fill the rest of the bench with the U23s/U18. Send Lowe to manage them. Everyone else stays at Brockhall and trains for the big one. 6 Quote
Mattyblue Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Listening to JDT on Radio Lancs, sounds like an 11 changes job… thank feck. Quote

Admiral Nelsen Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Completely agree with those saying make wholesale changes. Hopefully gives a chance to the likes of Buckley and Markanday to get closer to the side, although it's not exactly going to be ideal circumstances for them to showcase their talent. Quote
1864roverite Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I wouldn’t risk any first team players on this match 3 Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I’m not one for wholesale changes , especially when we have a month off but this isn’t any ordinary situation. Play the u12s if you have to Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Yeah, unfortunately we drew a big fish away at exactly the wrong time. 1 Quote

tomphil Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Look how the Wigan cup game derailed last season with a strong side out/ Lesson learned ? Team of kids please. let them have a go. Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Play the reserves...Turd Moor Sunday is our focus. 3 Quote
matt83 Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 For those going the rail strike has been canned. Well for now anyway. Quote
matt83 Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 To echo all the above I’d play the reserves and rest all first xi players for Sunday. As far as the squad goes there’s plenty of outfield talent to play the one glaring position of very very low quality is pears. He’s one of the worst goalkeepers I’ve ever seen including opposition keepers. Probably the largest gap in quality between first choice and 2nd choice in professional football. Quote

Pears is so poor I think his rightful place is on the bench, and never on the pitch. I honestly think if Kaminsky was out through injury he would be replaced by one of the younger keepers, not Pears. Pears has been number 2 all season under JDT so I think you are wrong to think that Hilton or Eastham would replace Kaminski if he wasn't available to play Quote

It's all opinions, until Kaminski is unavailable we will not know who is right. Personnally I hope we never find out. Edited November 6, 2022 by rigger 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) Strange/easy life being a second choice keeper in the modern, reserve team free game. If no injury to the main man, they literally never play a minute of a football match for months on end (many months if knocked out of cups early). Bit of training through the week, then sit on the bench with your gloves on on a match day. Rinse and repeat… Edited November 6, 2022 by Mattyblue Quote

davulsukur Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Worst possible time to play this lot, with the big game on Sunday. A team of kids/fringe players is fine but if West Ham put their first team out, it'll be an absolute pasting. Quote
