Well they had the two headers and there Barnes chance that went into the side netting. Plus they had all of the play in our half and were making us defend. I'd hardly say untroubled. The general consensus at half time was change things or it was only a matter of time before they scored. And that was correct.

And when they scored we didn't change a thing other than personnel. We carried on with the same side-ways passing at the back and kept giving the ball away.

I don't get why we are set up to just defend, defend, defend anyway. As I said, every team which has gone to Burnley this year has managed significantly more goal attempts than we did, including Shrewsbury and Lincoln.

Also within our midfield we often play passes into players who are closely marked and surrounded by opponents.

The ball receiver needs a very high level of technique to deal with that, to receive and pass on one touch, and we do not have enough players who are so qualified. The result is often conceding possession and allowing an opposition break with our midfield stranded and defence exposed

Watford were a shambles when we played them - man for man they've got a FAR better squad that we do. Burnley are currently flying with... a far better squad than we have.

Rotherham are equipped to attack Burnley's weaknesses. There's no way Gallagher and Brereton are winning enough headers to make that an option for us - it's just not in their game.

So far this season Burnley have dropped points to Luton, Hull, Watford, Blackpool, West Brom, Preston, Cardiff, Stoke, Birmingham and Sheffield United. That's ten games where opponents, mostly with weaker squads have competed physically and tactically to do enough to get results. Yesterday were were out run, out thought and given a lesson in the way I think Tomasson wants to play.

For years I laughed at some Burnley fans I know who claimed we only beat them 5-0 because of the ref. They are the ones laughing now though, and our fans making similar claims about the ref are embarrassing.

No ref in any game anywhere would have issued a red card for the push after the goal. And disallowing the goal would only ever happen in the Chaddyverse. Only one penalty decision is being talked about, Brereton might have given one away too.

Our players rolling around and pretending to be hurt doesn’t do any good. Ref might have thought a booking was in order if someone stood up to Barnes instead.

Anyone who is blaming that shit show on the ref needs to watch it back.

I honestly still cannot believe how bad this team can play sometimes.

Barnes deliberately push Kaminski over, twice, and recklessly clattered into one of ours in midfield.

Any of those were worth a booking.

No one as far as I can see has blamed the Ref for our defeat, that is down to us.

The Ref was however generally shite in his decision making and there was a home bias.

I've not even remotely calmed down yet after that absolute shambles.

JDT must have been on the piss on Saturday, so many baffling decisions. He now has a big job winning back respect from us fans. I couldn't give a shit that we're 3rd quite frankly, I'd be literally amazed if we finish top 6.

If I was a Wharton I'd be frigging distraught not starting yesterday.

The only real positive was to my knowledge it passed off without many major incidents. A few coach windows went through but that's all I saw.

Does anyone know if the chap that collapsed is ok? One of our fans was screaming at a policeman to get help and he didn't seem to give a shit, absolute disgrace.

Yes he was , it was just low blood sugar and he was back on his feet and watched the game pretty quick

The clattering was a definite booking, but the first push? No way. Barnes lightly touched Kaminski’s chest which caused him to fall to the ground holding his face.

Biggest issue with the ref was missing two blatant corners. And just have a read back, there are definitely people making out we lost because of the referee rather than our own ineptitude.

Sorry but I’m still not over yesterday. I’ve watched plenty of away games this season: Sheff utd, Luton, Wigan, Cardiff etc and we’ve done the same fucking thing, pass across our own box while under pressure, make mistakes and then concede. We do this slow fucking boring build up play which gets to midfield and then it comes straight back every time!! There’s NO press whatsoever. Every away game I watch I think to myself ‘surely we’ll no do that again this week’ (we went direct against boro and look what happened, we actually fucking won) anyways, convinced myself today we would be more direct (knowing they are vulnerable that way) we’d press and be in their faces, and be up for the game.
What the fuck was I thinking, only a lunatic would expect JDT to change the way we play away from home for the biggest game of the season after getting slapped away from home repeatedly when playing that way. What an idiot I am.

Yes we’ve won some good games and played well and the passing out from the back works at Ewood (so far, with hairy moments still) but what are we doing still doing it every away game when we’ve been beaten by shit teams like Wigan and Cardiff who’ve been really struggling when we’ve played them.

I could forgive JDT for us taking the game to them and us getting pumped 3-0 because we had a fucking go but Jesus Christ, we set up like we were playing Man City away.

Lastly I’ll say we need someone who can keep the ball in midfield with their back to goal, can  buy a foul of can hold it up because it’s like a game of tennis when it comes out for the back at snails pace. Good job we have a player who can hold it up sat on the bench tho, who also while am at it (allegedly) can’t do the press that JDT wants, because that press has been evident time and time again.

Can get over all the defeats this season but that set up from the team he put out, tactics and lack of fight and desire, also lack of changing things when we went one down and carried on passing around the back till we twice found a claret and blue shirt is unforgivable. If it was every going to change it would have been yesterday so I think we’ll carry on getting beat away from home passing it around like dickheads for a while to come.

Jury 100% still out for me on JDT especially with his lack of giving a fuck about that performance and swerving questions in the interview. He’s not arsed what yesterday meant to us and he’s proven it

We deseved what we got, another below par away performance.Burnley were bound to be up for this one after being thrashed 5-2 with Sheffield United. Lets hope we return the compliment at Ewood next year in March, give the dingles 2,000 tickets and the rest for Rovers supporters empty seats.

Corrected for you (I agree with you on the Bonleh allocation by the way!)

Nice to see that Dom Hyam has taken yesterday's defeat well enough to piss off to Dubai for some winter sun.

It’s an absolute disgrace this, seen similar posts by Morton, Kaminski and Szmodics today. Clearly some were already on the beach yesterday.

They should have been in work today debriefing on a pathetic performance. Even if not, certainly don’t post on social media.

There should be a public club apology or by JDT. Clearly there is no understanding of how much this meant and how much they’ve let down the fans.

It's just a job to most of our players. No real affinity to the club for most.

I can accept being out skilled but I’ll never accept us being out enthused. That’s what happened yesterday. And for players posting  holiday snaps after that ! Have they no shame ?

I was at the 3-0 defeat back in 1963. Travelled over from Rochdale on my own as a 14 year old on a “ Ellen Smith’s “ coach full of dingles. I had more balls at 14 than some of the “ men “ wearing the shirt yesterday.

It was anybodies game until a young Mike England got tired of Andy Lochead’s  constant fouling and planted him. He learnt from that, let’s hope we do.  Lochead was the Ashley Barnes of his day but more obvious.

I don't understand why footballers use social media in general, what he is doing makes sense, a week rest before a mini pre-season and back again. But surely he realises that it just rubs people up the wrong way.

I remember back in the Shane Duffy days when his "unlucky lads, we go again next week" tweets became a matter of parody, same with Elliott Bennett, better off without it.

Exactly, seeing that after yesterday ? How many season tickets do you reckon that will sell ?

I was just thinking, If anyone had anything about them yesterday after Barnes’ shithousery in the first half, they would have left one on him in the second half.
He genuinely hates us (saw an interview saying he is so happy because he scored against the bastards) that showed yesterday in his play, I can’t help but admire that because once the ref let him get away once he knew he’d carry on getting away with it. Didn’t see anyone with that desire and hatred for Burnley yesterday from us

I agree, in fairness surely the players aren’t stupid enough to think that playing tennis across our 18 yards box is a good idea. They’re probably pissed offthey keep getting told to do it. I think I’d need a holiday if I was forced to do that

How do you think that will go down with the poor bastards who are having to decide wether to put food on the table or put the heating on or maybe treat their kids to a trip to Ewood over Xmas ? I was thinking of taking my grandson to a game. It can wait now.
