Watched every minute and I would not say any player had a mare in fact a result at a PL club doesn’t really suggest it at all!! 1 Quote

Ossydave Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Be interesting to see how they disperse us after the game. I assume we'll be kept behind regardless of the result, but after that? No escort to the train station as we can't travel by train. There'll be people on coaches but where does that leave the rest? Quote

But more likely the Sunday, big derbies often seem to get moved to Sunday noon, Swansea/Cardiff as an example. Yeah I was thinking that. Ideally it be the Saturday at noon. Quote

tomphil Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 (edited) It's Burnley not Beirut their vermin will be hanging about under t'culvert so that might be a bit ropey but otherwise most will just be mooching off home. Trolls live under bridges so avoid that and you'll be fine there's too much scaremongering going on with this now. Edited November 10, 2022 by tomphil 2 Quote

If Burnley residents (not fans) have the slightest suspicion you are from Blackburn, I believe there is a reasonable chance you will be violently attacked, verbally or physically, especially if they lose. I would take no risks and try to follow the police. It's really sad that physical violence is still the answer for some. I'm quite worried that someone innocent will get hurt. 6 Quote

I remember Rovers fans being especially cautious and Burnley fans going overboard about how they were going to win. The atmosphere at the game was very tense and the noise deafening, you could feel the hatred. Then we absolutely destroyed them. One of the best games I've ever witnessed at Ewood. Up there with the 2-0 defeat of United (94) and the 7-1 demolishing of top placed Norwich (92). Then Owen Coyle's Burnley came to Ewood and prior to the game there was lots of talk of how Burnley were now equals, with a PL team, players like Elliot and Eagles were going to destroy us, etc... 3-1 at half time (then the foot was taken off the gas and it ended 3-2). Then Venkys came along and gave them a voucher code. I remember them being very gung ho before the first game at t' turd. They'd reeled it in a bit before the second but they were still pretty confident. I'll never forget seeing them all sat there in the Darwen End with their arms folded. The travesty of that game is that we should have been into double figures. One of the main reasons I will never forgive Venkys is the fact that the dingles have become a more dominant team than us. Let's be honest, they are the only reason this has happened. Edited November 10, 2022 by Upside Down 10 Quote

It is possible but not easy to get into Burnley centre from Turf Moor without going under the culvert. Put some thought into where you park and all should be fine. Not much trouble at Burnley these days apart from jumping up and down and shouting. I suspect any trouble is more likely to come from your lot. Quote

I wouldn't expect a guard of honour nor would i expect people in colours in the town centre or anybody giving it large not to expect attack. Otherwise i'm sorry but that post is an example of the myth that has led to the overkill of this fixture. Just because some granny on her porch flicks to Vs at Rovers coaches or toothless family line the streets to do the same doesn't mean they want to inflict disorder. Please it isn't the 70's anymore, yes there'll be incidents but no need to terrify everyone to death who is going. Be sensible and you should be fine. 4 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 So we allow a Dingle troll on here to blame Rovers fans for any trouble that may occur before anything has happened? I favour free speech but kindness is being abused here and now. 3 Quote

We’ve plenty of resident Dingles on here that don’t cause headaches, either stop causing them or we will stop you from being able to. 3 Quote

We now have a thread on here 7 pages long with a fair amount of aggression being displayed. Compare this to the main Clarets site, a couple of threads mainly about team selection and memories of past games. Of course there will be incidents but the main offenders are likely to be the feared "blue and white bog squad" Quote

Mattyblue Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 There’s about five threads on the first page of UTC, all with plenty of posts in. One of them alone nearing 100 posts. Here, one seven page thread. Just another game for you big boys, ay Zak 😁 5 Quote

How many seats are still available on Pendle Hill? 3 Quote

There are idiots on both sides - lets not lose sight of the fact that this game is to be top of the Championship going into the World Cup break. Burnley, with their parachute payments and remnants of a premiership team probably expected to be there - for Rovers it far exceeds our expectations - though JDT does seem to have a lucky touch as a manager. For us the game probably swings on Diaz - he hasn't been at his best this season - but still looks the best striker in the division capable of moments of sheer magic 7 Quote

You'll shake em off eventually. 3 Quote
